Christopher Shane Brining

Christopher Shane Brining, son of Mark Allen Brining and Jennifer Denise (Bales) Brining, was born March 18, 1991, in Lawrenceburg, Tennessee. As a young boy, Chris grew up in Clarksville, Tennessee and attended Rossview High School where he was active in the JROTC. He finished his junior and senior years of high school at Illini Bluffs High School where he graduated. Shortly after graduation, Chris entered the United States Army and served with the 82nd Airborne and was stationed in Haiti, Afghanistan, and Iraq. He was transferred to Fort Leonard Wood and was a wheeled vehicle mechanic before being medically retired. For his faithful service, Chris earned several awards and commendations; some of which included: Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal (2nd Award), Army Superior Unit Award, Army Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Humanitarian Service Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal 2/Campaign Star, Parachutist Badge, Driver and Mechanic Badge – Mechanic. Chris studied, earned his realtor’s license, and worked for Cross Creek Realty for a time before obtaining his present position with EXP Realty. He was very active in the community and was a hospital chairman with the Masonic Lodge helping children get the help they needed. In his spare time, Chris enjoyed being outdoors; whether it was fishing, hunting, skydiving, shooting guns or even in his early 20’s he enjoyed bull riding. He was excellent at playing the guitar and photography. Chris also loved his faithful companion, his dog Hank. He loved snake breeding and enjoyed taking care of them. Chris’ pride and joy was his son, Paxton. He loved him dearly and looked forward to the times that they spent together, whether it was kayaking, camping, or sharing the hobby of snake breeding. Chris passed away Tuesday, October 5, 2021, in his home having attained the age of 30 years. He will be sadly missed, but fondly remembered by all those that knew and loved him. Chris leaves to cherish his memory, his mother: Jennifer Brining of Clarksville, TN; father: Mark Brining of Glasford, IL; one son: Paxton Crall; aunts and uncles: Lynn Grandy (Mark) of Mapleton, IL, Stacey Woodley (John) of Clarksville, TN, Dan Hill of Peoria, IL, Mike Gibbons (Sue Richie) of East Peoria, IL and Linda Daniels of Clarksville, TN; grandparents: Shirley Bales of Clarksville, TN and William Bales (Nancy) of White House, TN; stepbrothers: Derek Smith of Indianapolis, IN and Matthew Smith of Pekin, IL; other relatives and friends. Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Christopher Brining and may be left at the funeral home.
