John Mack Mayer Jr.

John Mack Mayer, Jr., was born on December 30, 1971, to John Mack Mayer, Sr., and Pamela Sue (Ross) Mayer while his father was stationed in Frankfort, Germany. His family moved to Richland, Missouri in 1990. “Junior” as he was known by, attended school in Swedeborg until the eighth grade; he then transferred to Richland school graduating from RHS in 1991. After school Junior resided in Pulaski County and began working at the boat factory before later becoming a drywaller, and painter. Junior liked working and being around his friends. When he wasn’t working, Junior enjoyed family barbeques, and fishing. However, time spent with his family is what he treasured most. No matter what Junior was doing in life, you could count on him having a good time. Junior was preceded in death by his father, John Mack Sr., (June 4, 2003) and his mother, Pamela Sue (May 14, 2017), and one brother, Bryan Mayer. Junior passed away on the evening of March 3, 2023, while in Mercy hospital of Springfield, Missouri, having attained the age of fifty-one. He leaves behind to cherish his memory his two brothers: Jason M. Mayer, and Christopher “Troy” Mayer both of Richland, MO, one sister: Sharon Valerie Brown (Joey) also of Richland, MO; one niece: Chelsea Ann Mayer (Shawn) of Laquey, MO; one great niece: Kaisley; and one great nephew: Gavin; and a host of other relatives and friends. Junior found comfort and peace in helping others, even at the end of life’s journey he continued to do so. So today we celebrate Junior’s life and know that his family and friends will treasure the good memories he made for them during his lifetime. Junior may be gone from our sight, but he will never be forgotten. A Memorial Service was held at 6:00 p.m., Monday, March 13, 2023, in the Memorial Chapel of Richland with Pastor Landon Justice officiating. John’s favorite song, “Country Boy Can Survive” was played. Services were under the care and direction of Memorial Chapel of Richland.
