Judith Lorraine "Judy" Brown

Judith (Judy) Loraine Brown was born in St Louis, MO on March 1, 1941 to Herman and Evelyn Hearst and went on to her eternal reward on Tuesday, August 9, 2022. Judy grew up in Waynesville Missouri along with her sister, and best friend Patricia, her stepsister Brenda Martin and two stepbrothers Harold and James Martin. In addition to her mother Evelyn, Judy received motherly care and much attention during her formative years from her grandmother, Mary Isabel Barlow whom she loved dearly. All of these preceded her in death. Judy was united in marriage to Benjamin Brown on December 24, 1959, their mutual love and union resulted in four children: Troy, Darin, Kristan, and Landis. Judy took an active role in her church and community serving as a cub scout den mother, Sunday School teacher, VBS Director, and nursery teacher. She also served as a youth sponsor for summer youth conferences and faithfully supported global mission work through charitable giving. She enjoyed serving on the church team that hosted the yearly “Journey to Bethlehem” production and was named “Mother of the Year” at the Crocker Christian Church in 2021. Judy will be remembered for her faith in Jesus, love for family, and church involvement. She enjoyed spending time with her family, reading the Bible and almost every book Max Lucado wrote. She also loved playing cards, going on long walks with her best friend Betty Jo Adamson, listening to music, making the world’s best cinnamon rolls, and rooting for the St. Louis Cardinals. Judy leaves behind her love and a legacy of faith in Jesus to her loving husband Benny of Crocker MO., her son Troy and His wife Terri of Lebanon MO., her son Darin and his wife Donna of Ruther Glen VA., her daughter Kristan Ray and her husband Griff of Georgetown KY, and her son Landis and his wife Laura of Rindge NH. Judy deeply loved and is survived by nine grandchildren: Tricia Grunwaldt and husband Nick, Tyler Brown and wife Jennifer, Maressa Robles and husband Jose, Jenna Brown, Sawyer Murphy and husband Chris, Scout Ray, Silas, Aidan, and Ewan Brown. And four great-grandchildren: Lola, Kostas, and Ginger Grunwaldt and Paisleigh Brown Judy will be missed greatly, but those who knew her and know Jesus, are confident they will see her again. “Brothers and sisters, we do want you to be uninformed about those who sleep in death, so that you do not grieve like the rest of mankind, who have no hope.” I Thessalonians 4:13 In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made on behalf of Judy’s memory to the Free Women’s Center in Waynesville MO. Our family would like to thank the many members of Crocker Christian Church who prayed for us and our mother and who brought meals, took mom to appointments, watched Charlie, and performed countless other Christ-like acts of service. Thank you being the church to us in our times of need. A very special thanks to Bernard and Diane Houlehan. Words cannot adequately express our gratitude for the many ways you have shown your love to Judy (and Benny). You went above and beyond what we could ask or think, and you were always available and so helpful when we needed you the most. Your love for our mom will never be forgotten. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, August 12, 2022 in the Crocker Christian Church of Crocker, MO. Burial will follow in the Crocker Memorial Park Cemetery of Crocker, MO. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Memorial Chapels and Crematory of Waynesville / St. Robert. Visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. until time of service at 2:00 p.m. Friday, August 12, 2022 in the Crocker Christian Church of Crocker, MO.
