Robert "Bob" Joseph Woody

Robert Joseph “Bob” Woody, son of Harold Dean Woody and Judith Margaret (Heyes) Woody, was born October 30, 1958, in Wichita Falls, Texas where his dad was stationed while serving in the Air Force. He passed away Friday, August 2, 2024, in the Mercy Hospital of Lebanon, Missouri having attained the age of 65 years. Due to his dad being in the military, the family moved to different duty stations. They came to the Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri area where Bob became a student in the Laquey School District before transferring to Waynesville High School where he graduated with the Class of 1978. Bob worked for a time for Triple K as a truck driver before he began working in the family business with his dad, Harold who had an ice business and also had an HVAC business. They had multiple contracts with Fort Leonard Wood, along with working on businesses and residential housing. Bob left the family business and began working as a federal contractor in HVAC on Fort Leonard Wood where he was employed for 20 years. He especially enjoyed the last several months after becoming supervisor and he loved his work family dearly. Bob had been blessed with two daughters: Bethany and Angela. They were his pride and joy, and it broke his heart when Angela passed away shortly after graduating from high school. On June 14, 1996, Bob was united in marriage to Barbra Ann (Edwards) Keeth in Waynesville, Missouri. Bob loved being outdoors, especially while hunting and fishing. His best time spent outdoors was while BBQing for his friends and family. Bob had so many friends. He loved cooking for them and in fact, he hosted his class reunions for the last several years. Along with class reunions, he was known for hosting the best Halloween parties at his home for friends and family. In his spare time, Bob enjoyed building street rods and was a member of the Cave State Cruisers. He loved his music and especially his dogs. Bob was a member of the Waynesville Masonic Lodge #375 AF & AM and was the youngest person, at the time, to be initiated into the Abou Ben Adhem Shrine of Springfield, Missouri. Bob’s main priority in his life was his family. He loved them dearly and treasured all the time that he could spend with them. He will be sadly missed, but fondly remembered by all those that knew and loved him. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Barb of the home in Laquey; his daughter, Bethany Woody of Ft. Worth, TX; two grandchildren, Eleesia and Angela Woody, both of Ft. Worth, TX; his mother, Judith Woody of Waynesville, MO; his brother, Roy Woody (Patty) of Fairbanks, AK; his sister, Cindy Grizzell (Jess) of Waynesville, MO; brother-in-law, Gary Edwards (Yvonne) of Glenwood AR; a number of nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends. In addition to his daughter Angela, Bob was preceded in death by his father: Harold Woody; father-in-law and mother-in-law: Paul and Faye Edwards; and sister-in-law: Treva Lejeune and her husband Larry. Even though he is gone from our sight, Bob’s spirit will live on in our hearts forever. A Public Celebration of Life Gathering will be held at 6 p.m. Saturday, August 10, 2024, at Bob & Barb’s home in their shop at 30860 Hwy. 17, Laquey, MO 65534. All are invited. Memorial contributions in memory of Bob Woody may be made and may be left at the funeral home.
