Alice Deborah (Henson) Duncan

Alice Deborah Duncan, one of twelve children born to the late Jess and Vivian Rachael (Crossland) Henson was born in Crocker, Missouri on May 7, 1959, living her life in Pulaski County. Alice grew up in Richland where she attended school. She was strong in her faith and had attended Grace Baptist Church in her younger years and later attended Maranatha Baptist Church. Briefly Alice worked at both the nursing home and at the boat factory in Richland; however, she greatly enjoyed being a stay-at-home mom, taking care of “Bucky” and Melinda her pride and joy. Her home and family were most important to her. Alice married Mitchell Gene Duncan on July 2, 1994, in Richland, Missouri, by Pastor Larry Burke. Alice and Mitch were married over twenty-nine years. They enjoyed the simple things in life and just being together. Alice had a great sense of humor. She joked and cut up with her friends. She just loved to laugh and her laughter that could fill a room. Alice would absolutely rather be outside than inside; and especially loved to go fishing or floating down the river. She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Carolyn Crossland, and three brothers, Jessie Spiro Henson, Billy Henson, and Victor Henson, beloved son, Michael “Bucky” Henson. Alice passed away on Sunday, August 27, 2023, while in Mercy Hospital of Springfield, Missouri, having attained the age of sixty-four and leaves behind to cherish her memory, her husband, Mitch Duncan of the home; her daughter, Melinda Henson of Crocker, MO; 2 grandchildren: Issac Henson and Teona Henson; two brothers: Michael “Tom” Henson (Carol), Gary Henson (Lucy) all of Richland, MO, five sisters: Linda Jefferies, Beverly Elson (Harold), Azalee Henson and Jessica Warren (Bill) all of Richland, MO, and Martha Burke-Agan of Lebanon, MO; one sister-in-law: Phyllis Henson of Richland, MO; several nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends. Her journey here on earth included a few tears and lots of laughter. Alice was a caring and thoughtful daughter, lil sister, aunt, mother, grandmother, and friend with a huge heart and a great smile. Services were held at 3:00 p.m., Wednesday, August 30, 2023, in the Memorial Chapel of Richland with Brother, Gary Henson officiating. Recorded music included, “A Song For Momma,” “Dancing In The Sky,” and “Never Not Remember You.” Escorts were family and friends. Burial followed in the Oaklawn Cemetery of Richland, MO. Services were under the care and direction of Memorial Chapel of Richland.
