Anna Lorene (Caffey) Gordon

Anna Lorene (Caffey) Gordon, daughter of Joseph F. and Lucy Jane (Rector) Caffey, was born July 17, 1916 in Phillipsburg, Missouri where she grew up and graduated from high school. On January 24, 1942, Lorene was united in marriage to Jessie “Bill” Olen Gordon, Sr. in Lebanon, Missouri. They shared over 54 wonderful years of marriage together and were blessed with one son: Jessie Olen Gordon, Jr. Bill preceded Lorene in death on May 2, 1996. In October 1964, Lorene started working for the Ben Franklin store in St. Robert and was employed there until the St. Robert Wal-Mart store was opened. She began her employment with Wal-Mart and retired there after more than 30 years of service. During her time with Wal-Mart, Lorene was privileged to travel with Sam Walton in his private jet opening Wal-Mart stores throughout the United States. In her spare time, Lorene enjoyed sewing, crocheting and gardening. She attended the First Free Will Baptist Church of Waynesville with her family. Most importantly, she loved spending time with her family, especially the grandchildren. Lorene passed away at 11:05 a.m., Saturday, February 27, 2010, at Richland Care Center at the age of 93 years, 7 months and 10 days. Lorene will be sadly missed by all those that knew and loved her. Lorene leaves to cherish her memory her son: Jessie Olen Gordon, Jr. and wife, Mary Annalou of Waynesville; two granddaughters: Cristal Dennick and husband, Bruce and Teresa Livengood and husband, Mark all of Waynesville; five great grandchildren: Brandon Dennick and friend, Megan Stewart, PVT Brittany Dennick and Brook Dennick, and Kasey and Kelsay Pemberton; one great-great granddaughter: Justice Anna Nicole Dennick and her mother, Tiffany Dennick; one sister: Betty Rae Randolph of Lebanon; one brother-in-law: Don Robinson of Ozark; two sisters-in-law: Neoma Caffey of Kansas City and Shirley Caffey of Lebanon; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents and husband, Lorene was preceded in death by three brothers: Freeland, Jessie and Herbert Caffey; and two sisters: Mary Robinson and Kathleen “Katy” Hoke. Funeral services were held at 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, March 3, 2010 in the Memorial Chapels and Crematory of Waynesville/St. Robert with Rev. Russell Johnson and Rev. Dana Wood officiating. Rev. Wood accompanied herself as she sang “In the Garden”, “Supper Time” and “What A Day That Will Be”. Serving as escorts were Bruce Dennick, Brandon Dennick, Mark Livengood, Johnny Gordon, Dennis Harris and Sylvester Wallack. Serving as honorary escorts were Kirt Gordon, Gary Nickels, Dennis Doss, Tyler Schindler and Wayne Fritts. Graveside services follow at 3:00 P.M. Wednesday, March 3, 2010 in the Lebanon Cemetery of Lebanon, Missouri. Services were under the direction of Memorial Chapels and Crematory of Waynesville/St. Robert. Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Lorene Gordon to the Free Will Baptist Church of Waynesville and may be left at the funeral home.
