Bethel Roberta (Walters) Reo

Bethel Roberta (Walters) Reo, daughter of the late Chester and Rosa Ann (West) Walters, was born March 8, 1932 in Lebanon, Missouri where she grew up and attended Ivey School. At a young age, Bethel made a profession of faith, was baptized and attended Emmanuel Chapel Church outside of Lebanon. On July 9, 1949, Bethel was united in marriage to Oliver Reo in Lebanon. They shared over 45 years together and were blessed with two sons: Leo and Roy; and five daughters: Linda, Debbie, Mary, Susie and Lea Ann. Bethel was a full time mother and wife and also worked outside of the home. She was employed with different companies throughout her working years: H.D. Lee, Medley Drug Store and as a waitress at The Lodge at Bennett Springs. But her true joy was her family and she took great pride in helping to provide for them. She enjoyed taking care of her family and cherished every moment she could spend with them, especially the grandchildren. In her spare time, Bethel loved to be outdoors either gardening or fishing. She was a member of the Coupon Club. Bethel passed away Monday, February 20, 2017 in the Mercy Hospital of Lebanon, Missouri having attained the age of 84 years, 11 months and 12 days. She will be sadly missed, but fondly remembered by all those that knew and loved her. Bethel leaves to cherish her memory, one son: Leo Reo and wife Yolanda of Topeka, KS; five daughters: Linda Kay Bowls of Lebanon, MO, Debbie Lynn Clough and husband Richard of Oak Grove, MO, Mary Suha and husband Joe of Lebanon, MO, Pamela Susie Ruble and fiance Rick Brown of Stoutland, MO, and Lea Ann Reo and fiance Mike Neher of Lebanon, MO; two brothers: Bill Walters and wife Janell of Springfield, MO and Russell Walters of Lebanon, MO; one sister: Rosemary Hull and husband Carl of Clinton, MO; numerous grandchildren, great and great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents, Bethel was preceded in death by her husband: Oliver Reo; one son: Roy Reo; two brothers: Charles and Robert Walters; and one grandson: Jason Ulrich. Even though she is gone from our sight, she will forever live on in our hearts through the wonderful memories we all share. Services were held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, February 24, 2017 in the Hillcrest Baptist Church of Lebanon, Missouri with Pastor David Brown officiating. The song “When I Get Where I’m Going” by Brad Paisley was played and soloist Becky Lercher sang “Amazing Grace”, “Jesus Loves Me” and “Swing Low, Sweet Chariot”. Serving as escorts were Todd Moore, Dustin Cook, Dakota Williams, Joseph Suha, Michael Jackson and Brian Jackson. Serving as honorary escorts were Bill and Russell Walters, Bill Robertson, Joe Suha, Mike Neher, Bob Hanson, Kenny Jackson, Rick Brown, Donald West, Jamie and Dwayne Walters. Burial followed in the Lebanon City Cemetery. Services were under the direction of Memorial Chapels and Crematory of Waynesville / St. Robert.
