Betty J. Dunn

Betty J. (Lowry) Dunn, daughter of the late Artie Vincent and Florence (Simmons) Lowry, was born July 12, 1936 in West Frankfort, Indiana. On January 1, 1955, Betty was united in marriage to Lonzo Dunn in Jeffersonville, Indiana. They shared over 59 years of marriage together and were blessed with six children: Lonzo Jr., Marie, Betty Lou, Susan, Deborah and Sandra. Due to Lonzo being in the military, Betty and the family moved several times throughout the years. They eventually settled in the Crocker area. Betty worked for many years at the commissary on each duty station as a cashier. She loved visiting with the customers that came through. Betty was a very active woman. She enjoyed gardening and canning the fruits of her labors, crocheting, reading, bowling and cooking for her family and friends. She also loved to watch baseball and cheering on her grandkids while watching them play all sports. Betty loved spending time with her family and friends, especially all the grandchildren. She was a devoted wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend. Betty passed away at 1:32 a.m. Saturday, March 22, 2014 in the General Leonard Wood Army Community Hospital of Ft. Leonard Wood, Missouri having attained the age of 77 years, 8 months and 10 days. She will be sadly missed but fondly remembered by all those that knew and loved her. Betty leaves to cherish her memory, her husband: Lonzo Dunn of Crocker, MO; four children: Marie and Robert Eberhard of St. Robert, MO, Betty Lou and Larry Graham of Newtonia, MO, Susan and Chris Pruitt of Crocker, MO and Sandra and Ben LeGall of Waynesville, MO; five siblings: Darrel and Patricia Lowery of Jeffersonville, IN, Carol Sue and David Pearl of Taylorsville, KY, Kenneth and Leonida Lowery of Defuniak Springs, FL, Eugene and Ramey Lowery of San Diego, CA and Brenda and Leland Powell of Oceanside, CA; 13 grandchildren: Lonzo Scott, Heather and Jeffrey Danielson, Cody and Chelsea Lawson, Bradley Uherka, Erryck Uherka, Aiyana Uherka, Jennifer Wiese (Jason), Jacquelyn Palazzo, Christina and Allen Myrick, Andrea LeGall, Ashley LeGall, Hannah LeGall, and Anthony LeGall; 19 great grandchildren: Darian Scott, Savannah Scott, Aries Scott, Russell Scott, Chance Scott, Jeffery “Tuff” Danielson, Tessa Danielson, Christopher Trimmell, Payton Trimmell, Alyssa Trimmell, EmmaLeigh Palazzo, Kyson “Cash” Lawson, Finley Lawson, Sebastian Lewis, Anastasia Myrick, Ian Manseau, Niklas Manseau, Alexander Myrick and Trevor Zeiss; son-in-law: Gene Scott; granddaughter-in-law: Diane Phillips; many other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by two children: Lonzo Dunn, Jr (infant) and Deborah Kay Scott; two siblings: Bobbie Lowry and Delores Ehrheart;, one grandchild: Bobby Gene Lewis; one great grandchild: Evan Manseau (twin of Ian Manseau).
