Beverly Jean Prine, 81, of 11536 Illinois Route 29, Pekin, Illinois, passed away at 4:15 p.m. Wednesday, August 26, 2009 at Methodist Medical Center in Peoria, Illinois surrounded by her loving family. Born June 13, 1928 in Sapulpa, Oklahoma to Walter Ray and Hazel Marie (Freeman) Bench, she married Virgil Prine on June 11, 1967 in Pekin, Illinois. He survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Suzie (Andy Faneuf) Noe Moore of Pekin, Illinois and Jean-Marie (Jim) Noe Lancaster of Mapleton, Illinois; one son, David (Faye) Noe of Pekin, Illinois; one step-son, Virgil Dean (Dianna) Prine of Forest City, Illinois; two step-daughters, Kathy (Ed) Sell of Sparland, Illinois and Brenda (Mick Lewis) Drummer of Fortine, Montana; fifteen grandchildren; twenty-eight great-grandchildren; one sister, Phyllis Decker of Chico, California; one step-sister, Barbara Painter of Oklahoma; sister-in-law, Armenda Painter of Saint Louis, Missouri; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother (James Bench), sister-in-law (Kathleen Bench), and one step-brother (Sonny Painter). Beverly was a realtor in the Pekin area for 27 years, last working for Karl Kaebel Realtor in Pekin. She also did property management for several years. She was a member of Spring Lake Missionary Church in rural Manito, Illinois, American Business Women’s Association, AARP, National Association of Realtors, Pekin Area Association of Realtors, and REAP. Beverly enjoyed writing short stories, reading, camping, traveling, photography, doll collecting, art, and flower gardening. Visitation was held from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, September 3, 2009, at Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, Pekin Chapel, Pekin, Illinois. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, September 5, at Memorial Chapels and Crematory of Richland, Missouri, with Rev. Merrell Jefferies officiating. Mrs. Prine’s nieces, Diana York, Teresa Williams and Gail Peppers sang, “When The Roll Is Called Up Yonder,” “Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus,” “In The Garden,” “Amazing Grace,” and “How Great Thou Art” they were accompanied by Guitarist, John Crossland. Serving as escorts were Ryan, James, Tommy and Bradley Bench, Caleb Shelton, Nathan Ramer, Richard Hannon and Christopher Shelton. Burial followed in Oaklawn Cemetery.
