Bonnie McIntyre

Nettie Bonnie McIntyre, daughter of the late William Joseph and Nettie (Evans) Elam, was born May 5, 1921 in Richland, Missouri. She departed this life Wednesday, May 1, 2013 in the Wittenberg Village of Crown Point, Indiana having attained the age of 91 years. Bonnie, as she was known to her family and friends, grew up in the Richland area. She attended Bellfont Elementary School and later graduated from Richland High School. She later took some courses at Meramec Junior College in St. Louis. In October of 1941, Bonnie was united in marriage to the love of her life, George Raymond “Ray” McIntyre. They shared 31 years together before he preceded her in death in October 1972. Bonnie and Ray were blessed to have adopted two children, Marsha Kay and Steven Ray. Bonnie, Ray and the family split their time between St. Louis and both families in the country in Richland and Waynesville at their beloved cabin on the Gasconade. The cabin was the hub of so much of the families’ lives and everyone enjoyed spending time there. Bonnie worked as an Administrative Assistant to 60 professors at Meramec Junior College from 1968 to 2002. After retiring from the college, she worked for her church, Life Christian Center in the office and the library. She then worked as a food demonstrator for Dierbergs Grocery Chain until the age of 89. Bonnie’s whole life was her family, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved spending time with them and treasured every moment. She will be sadly missed, but fondly remembered by all those that knew and loved her. Bonnie leaves to cherish her memory one daughter: Marsha Kay Cory; five grandchildren: Jesse and Eric McIntyre, and Shad, Nathan and Sara Cory; six great grandchildren: Savannah, Jessica, Mia, Colin, Raney and Tessa Cory; three siblings: Grace McClary of Richland, Ethel Wilson of Lebanon, and William Elam of Richland; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents, Bonnie was preceded in death by son: Steven Ray McIntyre, brother: Roger Elam, sister: Rose McCamon, sister: Anna Bowling, sister, Flora Lawrence, sister: Mildred Clark and husband Gilbert, brother: Jesse Elam and wife Evelyn, sister-in-law: Velma June Elam, brother-in-law: Mayfield Wilson, nephew: Robert Elam, niece: Gay Finger, nephews: Gerald and Richard Hendrix, nephew: Buddy Clark and his wife Eva. Services were held at 6:00 p.m. Monday, May 6, 2013 in the Memorial Chapel of Richland with Rev. Danny Graves and Marsha Cory officiating. Recorded music included "Heaven" by Bob Carlisle and "Holy Ground" by Geron Davis. A graveside service was held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, May 7, 2013 in the Oaklawn Cemetery of Richland, MO. Services were under the direction of Memorial Chapel of Richland.
