Brigid Parker

Brigid Parker, daughter of the late Robert Kavanagh and Anne (Foley) Kavanagh, was born November 10, 1933, in County Wexford, Ireland. In 1952, Brigid moved to London, England and met a young United States soldier by the name of Thomas John Parker. They were united in marriage on February 23, 1962, in Kingston, New York and shared over 53 years of marriage together and were blessed with four children: Suzanne, Patricia, Thomas, and Michael. Thomas preceded Brigid in death on May 24, 2015. Due to Thomas being in the military, the family was transferred to the Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri area where they decided to remain after Thomas retired from the military. Brigid raised her four children here and she loved being a mother and later a grandmother. She loved her family dearly and treasured all the time that they could spend together. In her spare time, Brigid enjoyed taking walks and reading. She was a member of the St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church until she and Thomas moved to Lebanon, Missouri and then became a member of the St. Francis de Sales Parish. Brigid enjoyed spending time with her church family and visiting her neighbors. Brigid entered her heavenly home on Monday, February 24, 2025, in her home having attained the age of 91 years. She will be sadly missed but fondly remembered by all those that knew and loved her. Brigid leaves to cherish her memory her four children: Suzanne McKinney of Lebanon, MO, Patricia Ann Wrinkle (Terry) of Lebanon, MO, Thomas Parker (Terri) of Lebanon, MO, and Michael Parker (Katie) of Pinehurst, NC; two sisters: Lena McCloud and Ann Nash (Brian), all of London, England; eight grandchildren: Kristopher Deitz, Danielle Woodburn, Amanda Parker, Kyle Parker, Montana Parker, Jacob Parker, Merryn Parker, and Olivia Parker; five great grandchildren: Reagan, Madison, Bridgette, Parker and Amelia; several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. In addition to her parents and husband, Brigid was preceded in death by three siblings: Mary Patchell, Maurice Kavanagh, and Myles Kavanagh. Even though she is gone from our sight, Brigid’s love for her family will live on in our hearts forever. Mass of Christian Burial was held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, February 28, 2025 in the St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church of St. Robert, Missouri with Father David Miller and Father Michael Murphy officiating. Serving as escorts were family and friends. Burial followed in the Resurrection Cemetery of St. Robert, Missouri. Services were under the care and direction of Memorial Chapels and Crematory of Waynesville / St. Robert. Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Brigid Parker and may be left at Memorial Chapels and Crematory of Waynesville / St. Robert.
