Brittany Ann and Infant Cadence Jay Coffelt

Brittany Ann Coffelt, 19, and her infant son, Cadence Jay Coffelt, passed away at 8:45 a.m., Friday, May 14, at St. John’s Breech Hospital, Lebanon, Missouri, as the result of injuries sustained in a two vehicle accident on Hwy 133 near Richland, Missouri. Brittany and Cadence leave to mourn their passing, Brittany’s husband-Cadence’s dad, Jon Coffelt, Richland, Missouri; Jon’s daughter-Cadence’s sister: Kylie Coffelt, St. Robert, Missouri; Brittany’s parents-Cadence’s grandparents: Keith and Vicki Burkhart, Richland, Missouri; Jon’s parents-Cadence’s grandparents: Glenn and Gina Coffelt, Waynesville, Missouri; Brittany’s grandparents-Cadence’s great grandparents: Edward and Roberta Burkhart, Newark, Ohio, and Ron and Juneann Wessel, Zionsville, Indiana; Brittany’s sister and brother-in-law-Cadence’s aunt and uncle: Courtney and Jonathan Wright, Richland, Missouri; Jon’s grandparents-Cadence’s great grandparents: Sue and Jerry Rich of Wellington, Alabama, and Joe and Mavis Crews, Weaver, Alabama; Jon’s great grandparents-Cadence’s great-great grandparents: Alvin and Margaret Crews, Griffin, Georgia, and Mildred Adcock, Gadsden, Alabama; Jon’s brothers-Cadence’s uncles and aunt: Jeremy and Jessica Coffelt, Alan Coffelt and Adam Coffelt, all of Waynesville, Missouri; nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends. Brittany and Cadence were preceded in death by Jon’s grandfather: George Manuel Coffelt, and Jon’s aunt: Sandra Dean Golden. Vicki (Wessel) and Keith Evan Burkhart welcomed their second daughter, Brittany Ann, into the world on April 7, 1991, in Newark, Ohio. Brittany grew up in Clarksville, Tennessee, and moved to Richland, Missouri, at the age of 12. Upon the Burkhart family’s arrival to Pulaski County, they began attending Harmony Baptist Church. Shortly thereafter, Brittany received Jesus Christ as her personal Savior and pledged her membership. On November 17, 2009 in Waynesville, Missouri, Brittany was united in marriage with Jonathan Patrick Coffelt. Brittany and Jon were expecting the arrival of their son, Cadence Jay Coffelt in July. Brittany was currently attending the Rolla, Missouri Technical Center enrolled in the Respiratory Therapy program. She was employed at Subway in Waynesville, and previously at Stockstill’s Pharmacy in Richland. Brittany was blessed with many gifts. She had a great talent for music, and enjoyed singing and playing the acoustic and bass guitars. She was fun-loving and full of life, and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Funeral services were held at 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, May 18, 2010 in the Harmony Baptist Church of Waynesville with Bro. Dwain Carter officiating. Carly McClain, Josh Hartley and Jonathan & Jeremy Coffelt played and sang “I Will Rise”, “How He Loves Me” and “I’ll Praise You in the Storm”. Serving as escorts were Josh Hartley, Jeremy Coffelt, Kenny Burkhart, Jon Wright, Megan Bates, Marcus Carter, Dwain Carter, Gary Wessel, Keith Burkhart, Glenn Coffelt, Blake Herd, Alan Coffelt, Adam Coffelt and Austin Bates. Burial followed in the Sunset Memorial Estates Cemetery. Services were under the direction of Memorial Chapels and Crematory of Waynesville / St. Robert. Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Brittany Ann and Cadence Jay Coffelt and may be left at the funeral home.
