Carolyn Sue Moore

Carolyn Sue Moore, daughter of the late William Miller, Sr. and Doris Miller, was born August 5, 1940 in Buckhorn, Missouri. She attended elementary school in Laquey and graduated from high school in Richland. After graduation, Carolyn attended cosmetology school in Waynesville. Carolyn was a very active person and had several jobs throughout the years. She was a beautician at Fort Leonard Wood where she met Elmer Richard Moore. They were married and she became mother to his two children, Daniel and Terrie. Carolyn also worked as a carpenter, which she really enjoyed and her last job was as a desk clerk/manager of a local motel. Her most important job and the one she was the best at was being mom. She was a mother not only to her own children, but to any other child that was in need that happened along her path. When Carolyn was younger, she loved to dance, especially the jitterbug. She enjoyed being outdoors; whether it was fishing or working in the garden. She was also a very talented seamstress and cook. She had quite the gift of making the best lemon and chocolate meringue pies. She loved Conway Twitty, reading detective magazines, watch Wheel of Fortune, crime shows, and Food Network. Carolyn also attended First Christian Church of Richland and was there every time she was able. The one thing that made Carolyn happier than anything was playing with her grandchildren. She was known as “MeMe” and treasured those times spent with them, along with the rest of her family. Carolyn passed away Wednesday July 3, 2013 in her home having attained the age of 72 years. She will be sadly missed by all those that knew and loved her. Carolyn leaves to cherish her memory two sons: Alfred Eugene Miller of St. Joseph, MO and Richard James Moore and wife Shawna of Bolivar, MO; stepson, Daniel Lee Moore and wife Suki of Piney Point, MO; stepdaughter: Terrie Lynn Jackson and husband Ancil of Jefferson City, MO; one brother: Jim Miller; eleven grandchildren: Michelle Peters and husband Adam, Bobby Odien, Seth Moore, Deanna Moore, Jeffrey Moore, James Moore, Adam Jackson and wife Taryn, Sarah Meyers and husband Jeff, Stephen Shoemaker, Jarrett Shoemaker and William Shoemaker; multiple great grandchildren; ex-husband/friend: Paul Shoemaker; other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents, Carolyn was preceded in death by one brother: William Miller, Jr., ex-husband: Elmer Moore; one son: Jimmy Allen Shoemaker; and one granddaughter: Tosha Odien. Services were held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, July 8, 2013 in the Memorial Chapel of Richland with Pastor's Tim Gola and Don Harris officiating. Music selections included "Cry out to Jesus", "Two Sets of Jones" and "I Can Only Imagine". Serving as escorts were Adam Jackson, Bobby Odien, Pete Peters, Tracy Henry, Jeff Meyers and Jeff Davis. Burial followed in the Colley Hollow Cemetery in Pulaski County, Missouri. Services were under the direction of Memorial Chapel of Richland.
