Charles Matthew Kristek

Charles Matthew Kristek, son of William and Mary Jane (Brynes) Kristek, was born June 24, 1970 in Springfield, Missouri where he grew up and graduated from high school. On July 5, 1997, Charles was united in marriage to Cynthia LeAnne Ransdall in Waynesville, Missouri. They shared over 19 years of marriage together and four children: Brennan Matthew, Eriq Russell, Catherine Elizabeth and Grace Anne. After completing his college education, Charles served in the Waynesville R-VI School District as a 5th grade teacher and most recently as part of the Data Assessment Team. In his spare time, Charles was very active and enjoyed several outdoor activities; some of which included: frisbee golf, kayaking, fishing, bike riding, hiking, camping, and water sports. He loved the fine arts and played many musical instruments and sang and donated time to his daughter’s dance studio constructing props for performances and competitions. The one thing he enjoyed above all else was spending time as a family. He loved his family dearly and looked for every opportunity for all of them to spend time together. Charles was very civic minded and served as a previous Waynesville Park Board member and was also a member of Missouri State Teachers Association, National Educators Association and CTA. Charles passed away Wednesday, April 12, 2017 having attained the age of 46 years. He will be sadly missed, but fondly remembered by all those that knew and loved him. Charles leaves to cherish his memory, his wife: LeAnne Kristek of the home; four children: Brennan, Eriq, Catherine and Grace Kristek; parents: Bill and Jane Kristek of Springfield, MO; siblings: Jeffrey Kristek and wife Cathy, Lisa Hammaker and Jason Kristek and wife Misty, all of Springfield, MO; parents-in-law: Bill and Pat Ransdall of Waynesville, MO; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Even though he is gone from our sight, Charles will remain in our hearts forever. Services were held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, April 17, 2017 in the Memoria Chapels and Crematory of Waynesville / St. Robert with Father John Groner officiating. The songs “Amazing Grace” and “On Eagle’s Wings” were played. Serving as escorts were Jonathan Homan, Geoffrey Klein, Ed Lefler, Tommy Roberts, Greg Creech, Kenny Cook and Andrew Letterman. Burial followed in the Sunset Memorial Estates Cemetery of Waynesville. Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Charles Kristek to his children’s education fund or the Waynesville R-VI School District lunch program and may be left at the funeral home.
