Charlotte Lorene (Brown) Dugas

Charlotte Lorene (Brown) Damaré Dugas, daughter of the late Lonnie and Genovia Lorene (Williams) Brown, was born August 15, 1955 in Crocker, Missouri where she grew up and attended school. She departed this life June 21, 2010 at the age of 54 years, 10 months and 6 days after a long and courageous battle with cancer. On November 13, 1983, Charlotte was baptized at the Buckhorn Baptist Church and was a member of the Center Point Baptist Church near Waynesville. Charlotte was united in marriage to Jack Damaré and to this union two sons were born: Mark and Kevin. On October 29, 1996 in St. Bernard Parish, Louisiana, Charlotte married Tony Dugas. They shared over 13 years of marriage together and many wonderful memories. Charlotte loved life. She was a joy to be around and the neighborhood children considered her to be their mother. She was very talented with her hands and enjoyed quilting, crafts, and painting. Most importantly, she cherished those times that she could spend with her family and friends, especially her children and grandchildren. She will be sadly missed by all those that knew and loved her. She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband: Tony Dugas; four children: Kevin (Leigh) Damaré of Norco, LA, Mark (Tracy) Damaré of Destrehan, LA, Timothy Dugas of TX and Ashley Dugas of MS; seven sisters: Georgia Schriner of Ft. Worth, TX, Janice (Jeff) Perrine of Waynesville, MO, Peggy (Gary) Humphrey of Richland, MO, Sharon (Keith) Hillard of Paris, MO, Kathy (Eldon) Brotherton of Cherokee, IA, Sandra (Bill) Willoughby of Richland, MO, Jackie (Dan) Doss of Ft. Worth, TX; and one brother: Virgil (Gloria) Brown of New Orleans, LA; eleven grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents, Charlotte was preceded in death by her niece Juanita Kay Humphrey; two nephews: Todd Dooley and Joseph Perrine; along with several aunts, uncles and cousins. Funeral services were held at 2:00 P.M. Friday, June 25, 2010 in the Memorial Chapel of Richland with Rev. Gary Humphrey and Rev. Danny Graves officiating. Soloist Stacy Green sang “I Can Only Imagine”, Soloist Zane Rowden sang “Holy Hills of Heaven” and also sang a duet with Willene Rowden on the song “I’ve Got More To Go To Heaven For”. The song “Go Rest High On That Mountain” was also played. Serving as escorts were Devin and Quintin Damaré, Matt Perrine, Dan Doss, Bill Willoughby and Timmy Dugas. Serving as honorary escorts were David Bosely, Rick Mattheis, Keith Hillard and John Perrine. Burial followed in the Center Point Cemetery near Waynesville, Missouri. Services were under the direction of Memorial Chapel of Richland. Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Charlotte Dugas and may be left at the funeral home.
