Christine Crossland

Christine Crossland, daughter of Lester Stacey and Margaret Christine (Merrell) Jones Stacey, was born March 13, 1964 in Worcester, Massachusetts. As a young girl, Christine and her family moved to the Laquey, Missouri area where she grew up and attended school. Christine was married to Earl Crossland and they were blessed with two children: Cheryl Christine and Earl, Jr. She loved her children and was heartbroken when Cheryl passed away at the age of three months. During her working years, Christine worked for Casey’s General Store in Waynesville and also for the Mess Hall on Fort Leonard Wood as head counter and server. In her spare time, she enjoyed photography and took many photographs over the years. The liked to fish, bowl, crossword puzzles and loved to crochet. She made several handcraft projects; such as dresses for dolls, bracelets with beads and many other projects. Christine was a member of the New Friendship Baptist Church and loved to read her Bible. When her health would permit, she would attend church every time she could. Christine loved helping others that were not as fortunate as her. Most importantly, she loved spending time with her family and friends. Christine went home to be with her Lord Monday, December 13, 2010 in the St. John’s Hospital of Lebanon, Missouri at the age of 46 years, 8 months and 29 days. She will be sadly missed by all those that knew and loved her. Christine leaves to cherish her memory her husband: Earl Crossland, Sr.; son: Earl Crossland, Jr.; her mother: Margaret Stacey all of Waynesville, MO; four brothers: James Jones of Laquey, MO, William Jones of Waynesville, MO, Michael Jones (Tara) of Crocker, MO and Larry Stacy of Richmond, MO; two uncles: John Merrell of Independence, MO and Arthur Merrell of Lebanon, MO; one aunt: Lori Cheek of Cochran, GA; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to her daughter, Christine was preceded in death by her father, Lester “Lucky” Stacey. Graveside services were held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, December 17, 2010 in the Centerpoint Cemetery of Pulaski County, Missouri with Rev. Christopher Hendrix, Sr. officiating. Music selections included "In The Garden" and "One Day at a Time." Serving as pallbearers were Larry Hunter, Randy Crossland, John Crossland, Austin Hunter, John Smith and Jason Beauchamp. Honorary pallbearers were Thomas Burrelsman, Daniel Crossland, Ryan Hunter, Earl Crossland and Darold Wieners. Arrangements were under the direction of Memorial Chapel of Richland. The family suggests memorial contributions in lieu of flowers in memory of Christine Crossland and may be left at the funeral home.
