Christine Phyllis Watson

Chris was born on July 8th, 1936 to the late Erford and Eliza Sharp in Binghamton, New York. She had three brothers, who she adored, Edward, Richard, and Gordie. They resided in New York until she met the love of her life and best friend, James Edward Watson aka Jim. In September of 1953, Jim and Chris were united in marriage. Chris had three daughters and one son, Gina, Sheryl, Sandy, and Jimmy. They traveled to multiple states and overseas. She loved reminiscing about the time spent in Europe and Puerto Rico. While being stationed at Fort Leonard Wood, Chris met her best friend/sister, Joann Rosipal. The two families became united as one. This is also where she found St. Robert Bellarmine Church where she would call home for many years. After being a military wife for 22 years, Chris and Jim planted roots in the Waynesville, Missouri area. She loved the time they spent dancing, laughing, and having fun at the local establishments. Chris had a few jobs to help support the family; she was a sales rep for KJPW, a dental assistant, and a floral designer. She never stopped making beautiful arrangements. Chris and Jim found a 40-acre plot of land in Stoutland, Missouri, where they made their home for 30 years. This is where she helped raise their horses and loved showcasing them in parades. She was active with the fire and rescue of Stoutland and the Laclede County Search and Rescue on horseback. She was also very interested in where she came from and in her research, she found she was Native American. She was involved with two organizations and attended many Pow Wows. Chris was crowned Pow Wow princes in 1996 for the Roy Rogers Indian club. She was very proud of her Tuscarora and Blackfoot roots. When they attended Saint Jude in Richland, Missouri, Chris was very active in the Alter Rosary Society and joined a red hat society. She loved working in the yard, walking and hunting in the woods, planting trees and flowers, she loved every minute of it. There was never a stranger to her. She had a smile and kind word for everyone she met. After the love of her life died in 2012, Chris stayed in Stoutland, Missouri for nine more years. She found the survivor outreach services where she of course attained more friends. In 2020, she moved to Breckenridge, Texas with her son and daughter-in-law. She spent her time sitting on the back porch watching the birds and squirrels. Christine is survived by her three daughters: Gina Kowitz (Ray), Sheryl Trinadade (Steve) and Sandra Web (Jerry); one son: Jimmy Watson (Billie); two brothers: Gordie Sharpe (Mary) and Edward Sharp; best friend/sister: Joan Rosipal; eight grandchildren: Kristina Nipper, Justin Garman, Bryan and Derek Trinadade, Cody and Colton Watson, and Blake and Brandie Grimes; several great grandchildren; other relatives and friends. Christine Watson – daughter, wife, mother, and true friend. You will never be forgotten. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, August 12, 2022, in St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church. Burial will follow in the Missouri Veterans Cemetery, under the care and direction of Memorial Chapels and Crematory of Waynesville/St. Robert. Visitation will be Thursday evening, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Vigil and Rosary services will follow in the funeral home. Memorial contributions can be made in memory of Christine Watson, and may be left at the funeral home.
