Deborah Diane Perkins

Deborah Diane Perkins, daughter of Dwight Loren and Bernice Ellen (George) Walters, was born August 7, 1958 in Crocker, Missouri however; she attended school in Waynesville, Missouri. Deborah, also known as, “Deb” to her family and friends, married Norman Joe Perkins on June 9, 1990 in Waynesville, Missouri. The couple shared over twenty six years together and a lifetime of wonderful memories raising their three children, Erin, Emmalina and Angela who filled the home with laughter and love. Deb made a profession of faith and followed with baptism in 2003 at First Baptist Church of Richland; however, do to health reasons Deb could not attend as she wanted to. This did not stop Deb from worshiping the Lord as she and Norman Joe studied scripture in their home together. Deb gave unselfishly of herself; always putting the needs of everyone else before her own; which made her the great mom that she was. She was a homemaker and loved to cook; however, she had also worked outside her home at Sunset Village and the Oasis. Deb had a great sense of humor and loved life and the people in it. She loved her family and always enjoyed talking to her mother-in-law on a regular basis, making sure all was well; that was the kind of lady Deb was. She loved animals, great or small and the unconditional love they gave; especially her babies, Jose, MooMoo, Gidget, Circe and Penny Pincher. In Deb’s spare time she enjoyed motorcycle riding, fishing, family get-togethers, especially weekly game nights with her beloved family. Deb went home to be with her Lord the morning of Sunday, December 4, 2016 in her home having attained the age of 58 years and leaves behind to cherish her memory, her loving husband, Norman Joe Perkins of their home in Richland, MO; one son: Erin Burgoon of New Hope, VA; two daughters: Emmalina Hardy (Christopher) of Richland, MO and Angela Collins (Chris) of Roach, MO; 8 grandchildren: Ky, Cheyan, Destiniee, Logan, Cheyenne, Kolten, Justin and Jade; 1 great granddaughter: Adaline Lucy Rose; her mother: Bernice Walters of St. Robert, MO; one brother: Denny Walters (Debbie) of Camdenton, MO; three sisters: Darla Betts (Billy) of Waynesville, MO, Deana Harding (Kenny)of Laquey, MO and Dawn Decker (Darrell) of Buckhorn, MO; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Deb was preceded in death by her father, Dwight, one sister, Deanne Young and one brother, Daren Walters. Deb’s sweet spirit, kindness and humor will be missed however; her legacy will remain in the lives of those she loved. A Celebration of Life service was held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, December 17, 2016 in the Cornerstone Baptist Church of Richland, Missouri with Pastor Chuck Baker officiating. Favorite song selections included “Amazing Grace My Chains Are Gone” and “On the Wings of a Dove”. Arrangements were under the direction of Memorial Chapel of Richland. Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Deb Perkins to the Dogwood Animal Shelter of Camdenton, Missouri and may be left at the funeral home. Deborah Diane (Walters) Perkins, 58, of Richland, Missouri, passed away Sunday, December 4, 2016 at her home. Memorial contributions may be made to either the Dogwood Animal Shelter of Camdenton, Missouri or to the ASPCA in Washington DC in Deb Perkins memory and may be left at the Memorial Chapel of Richland.
