Dollie Vance

Dollie (Head) Vance daughter of Ora Clifton (Cliff) and Christina (Tina Snider) Head was born March 26, 1914 in Crook County Wyoming and departed this life on Sunday, January 6, 2013 at Lake Regional Hospital in Osage Beach, Missouri at the age of 98 years, 9 months and 11 days. She moved with her family to Richland, Missouri when she was about 7 years old. On January 18, 1935 she was united in marriage to Francis Vance in Lebanon, Missouri and to this union was born four children. Dollie and Francis were married for 48 years before he passed away January 12, 1983. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Francis, one son Roy W. Vance and one daughter Juanita Rowden, two sisters Ollie Lane (her twin), Ruby Hooker, three brothers Jim Head, Elmer Head and Oliver Head. She is survived by, daughter Kay Rowden of Kansas City, Missouri, son John Vance & wife Pat of Richland, Missouri, daughter-in-law Darlene Vance, Osage Beach, Missouri, two sisters Zeda Newman of Bonner Springs, Kansas, Jean Dodson of Flemington, Missouri, two brothers Bob Head of Richland, Missouri and Porter Head of Kansas City, Missouri, 15 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, friend and caring neighbor. Today we celebrate her life and will treasure the many wonderful memories she has created with family and friends. Dollie Vance, 98, of Richland, MO, passed away Sunday, January 6, 2013 in the Lake Regional Hospital of Osage Beach, MO. Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, January 11, 2013, in the Memorial Chapel of Richland with Grandson, Nathan Posten officiating. Music selections chosen included, "In the Garden" and "Softly and Tenderly". Serving as escorts were Terry Rowden, Steve Rowden, Scott Vance, Jonathan Vance, David Rowden, Randy Vance, Terry Vance, Travis Rowden and Andrew Devero. Burial followed in the Oaklawn Cemetery of Richland. Services are under direction of Memorial Chapel of Richland. Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Dollie Vance and may be left at the Memorial Chapel of Richland.
