Donald Eugene Routh Sr.

Donald Eugene Routh, Sr., son of Charles Eugene and Olive Beatrice (Robertson) Routh, was born October 31, 1929 in Crocker, Missouri. Donald married Ruby Louise Tate on March 22, 1955 in Washington County, Mississippi. They shared over fifty-one years together, while raising their ten children, before Ruby’s passing, August 15, 2007. Donald joined the United States Army on October 7, 1955, faithfully serving his country before his honorable discharge on October 31, 1961. He also received a Marksman (Carbine)/Driver’s Badge. Donald worked hard over the course of his lifetime. He was employed thirty-three years at Lincoln Engineering, working as a metal finisher. In his spare time, you could find him outdoors tinkering around his place hunting, or fishing. However, Donald treasured the special times spent with friends and family, especially with his grandchildren. With his loving family by his side, Donald went home to be with his Lord on the morning of Wednesday, August 21, 2019, having attained the age of 89. In addition to his parents, Donald was preceded in death by his wife Ruby, one son, Andrew Routh, one daughter, Rema Routh, one grandson, Nicholas Ross, his brother, James Routh, and three sisters, Lena Overby, Geneva Lanham and Lucille Gay. Those left to cherish a lifetime of special memories are his eight children, Terry Routh of the state of OR, Donald Routh Jr. (Lori) of O’Fallon, MO, Anthony Routh (Margaret) of St. Louis, MO, Lynn Widman (Art) of Eldon, MO, Mike Routh of Buffalo, MO, Fran Seidl (Dave) of the state of WI, Mark Routh (Shelly) of Iberia, MO, and step son, John Ross (Pam) of Vienna, MO; 22 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. Services for Donald Eugene Rough were held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, August 24, 2019 in the Memorial Chapel of Richland with Rev. Don Jones officiating. Donald Routh, Jr. gave the eulogy. Special music included the “Kentucky Waltz,” “Amazing Grace,” and “Go Rest High on that Mountain.” Serving as escorts were Shaun Routh, Anthony Routh, Christian Routh, Mike Routh, Robert Widman, Mark Rout, Terry Routh and Donald Routh, Jr. Burial followed in the Memorial Park Cemetery, Crocker, Missouri. Military honors were provided by Missouri Honors Team. Services were under the care and direction of Memorial Chapel, Richland, Missouri. Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Donald E.
