Edna Fay Adams

Edna Fay Adams, daughter of Joseph V. Guillory and the late Stella Mae (Francisco) Guillory, was born October 16, 1956 in Simmesport, Louisiana. As a young girl, Edna and her family moved to Tyler, Texas where she attended Stewart Junior High and graduated from John Tyler High School. On August 23, 1972, Edna was united in marriage to Willis D. Adams, Jr. in Tyler, Texas. They shared over 46 years together and were blessed with three children: Joseph, Kelwin and Hope. Since Willis was in the military, Edna and the family moved to different duty stations and they came to the Waynesville / Fort Leonard Wood area. After moving to this area, Edna began working at Mid Missouri Credit Union where she served as a Teller Supervisor for 16 years. Edna was very involved in her church (Greater Community Missionary Baptist Church of St. Robert) and served as the Financial Director and church trustee for 8 years. She also helped in any area of the church that she was able and she loved her church family tremendously. Edna loved the Lord with all her heart and enjoyed reading her Bible daily. In her spare time, Edna enjoyed working with flowers, interior decorating, watching funny television shows and making Cherry Crumb for her family every holiday. Most importantly, she loved spending time with her family and friends. Edna went home to be with her Lord Wednesday, June 19, 2019 in her home having attained the age of 62 years, 8 months and 3 days. She will be sadly missed, but fondly remembered by all those who knew and loved her. Edna leaves to cherish her memory, her husband: Willis Adams of St. Robert, MO; three children: Joseph Adams and Issa Lopez-Adams of Colorado Springs, CO, Kelwin Adams of St. Robert, MO and Hope Marie Adams of St. Louis, MO; three grandchildren: Sydney Aaliyah Adams of Puyallup, WA, Marsai Adams of Kansas City, MO and Trevon Utsey of Kansas City, KS; one great grandson; father: Joseph V. Guillory; brothers and sisters: Robert Lee Young and Freddie Lee Young, both of Waco, TX, Joseph Elis Young and Carolyn Young of Longview, TX, Roger Lee and Felicia Young of Radcliff, KY and Loretta Lucille Young of Tyler, TX; aunts and uncles: Rose Mary Francisco and Josephine Jones, both of Tyler, TX, Raymond and Geraldine Francisco and Peter and Dorothy Lee Francisco, all of Houston, TX, John Francisco, Jr. and Leota of Cotton Port, LA, Geneva Steele of Tyler, TX, Lucian and Gloria Greenhouse of Tyler, TX, Alvin and Mary Cecil Lavalais of Alexandria, LA, and London and Elizabeth Johnson of Hessmer, LA; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Celebration of Life services were held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 26, 2019 in the Greater Community Missionary Baptist Church of St. Robert, Missouri with Pastor Chris A. Parks, DDIV officiating. Music was provided by the praise team of Greater Community Missionary Baptist Church and several family members and friends recalled their wonderful memories of Edna. Serving as escorts were Kelwin Adams, Joseph Adams, Hope Marie Adams, Deacon James Norris, Roger Young, Deacon Tyrone Edwards, and Joseph Elis Young. Serving as honorary escorts were Deacon Joe Grumney, Deacon Tommie Hollins, Deacon Thomas Goodman, Deacon Leroy Davis, Robert Young and Freddie Young. Burial followed in the Missouri Veterans Cemetery of Waynesville. Services were under the direction of Memorial Chapels and Crematory of Waynesville / St. Robert.
