Edward Lee Steward

Edward Lee Steward, son of Delmar and Shirley (Henson) Steward, was born December 11, 1964 in Pulaski County, Missouri. He went home to be with his Lord Thursday, October 27, 2016 in Mercy Hospital of Springfield, Missouri having attained the age of 51 years. As a young boy, Ed accepted Christ as his Savior and was baptized at First Baptist Church of Richland. Ed grew up in the Richland area and graduated from Richland High School. He also attended Waynesville V-Tech School and majored in Auto Mechanics. Just prior to his illness, Ed worked alongside his brother-in-law and friend CJ doing construction. He worked at Mott’s Auto Salvage for many years in parts and inventory where he gained a devoted friend, Ruth Ann. Ed loved hunting and fishing. There was always some animal or some season that had his interest. He worked so hard to get better, fighting to go hunting one more time. He was a golfer and a member of the T1O Racing Team. He loved life outdoors and spending time with family and friends. Ed will be sadly missed, but fondly remembered by his parents: Delmar and Shirley Steward of Richland, MO; son, Wade Steward and fiancé, Billie Hicks of Richland, MO; one sister: Connie Becker and her husband, C.J of Richland, MO; niece: Amanda Becker; nephew: Justin Becker; special friend: Theresa Turner Steward - mother of Wade….whom she and Ed remained dear friends, of Richland, MO; other relatives and friends. Ed was preceded in death by paternal grandparents: Jasper and Bertha (Cook) Steward and maternal grandparents: Warren and Mollie (Shipman) Henson. Services were held at 3:00 p.m. Monday, October 31, 2016 in the Memorial Chapel of Richland, Missouri with Pastor Fred Bobe officiating. Chris Hendrix sang “Amazing Grace, My Chains Are Gone.” Other favorite music recordings included “Wish This Was a Riverbank,” “When I Get Where I’m Going” and “Hunting, Fishing and Loving Everyday.” Serving as escorts were Tim Luttrell, Dennis Ogle, Jimmy Sullivan, Tyler Brown, Johnny McDaniel, Bruce McDaniel and Brian Miller. Honorary escorts included Donnie Bolan, Rick Messer, Ron Steward, Richard Steward, Mike Holloway and Brad Ledbetter. Burial followed in the Oaklawn Cemetery of Richland, Missouri. Services were under the direction of Memorial Chapel of Richland. Memorial contributions may be made in Ed Steward’s memory and may be left at the funeral home.
