Elmer Harry Braun

Elmer Harry Braun, son of the late Joseph and Margaret (Frank) Braun, was born June 20, 1935 in St. Louis, Missouri. He departed this life Tuesday, February 7, 2017 in his home in Tunas, Missouri having attained the age of 81 years. Elmer grew up in St. Louis and worked for Loy Lange Box Factory, Chevrolet-Shell, and Smith Log and Lumber Saw Mill. In 1972, Elmer moved to the Pulaski County area before moving to Springfield, Missouri for a time. While in Springfield, he met Inis Marie Young and they were united in marriage on September 1, 1985. Inis passed away May 16, 2005. While living in Springfield, Elmer worked as a delivery man for an ice company and was known as Mr. Ice Man. Elmer was united in marriage to Sharon Vanessa Houston. They shared several years together and many wonderful memories. In his spare time, Elmer enjoyed being outdoors while fishing and playing horseshoes. Most importantly, he loved his family and looked forward to every chance he could spend with them. Elmer will be sadly missed, but fondly remembered by all those that knew and loved him. He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife: Sharon Braun of the home; nine children: Jerry Braun and wife Barbie, Elmer “Harry” Braun, Jr., Angie Nash and husband Andy, Diane Munoz and husband Raul, Jenny Hatfield, Julie Robinson, Joshua Robinson, Landon Braun, and Lance Braun; son-in-law: Robert Ditch; one sister: Josephine; one brother: Joe; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents and his wife, Elmer was preceded in death by one son: Andy and two daughters: Lizzie and Tammy. Services were held at 3:00 p.m. Thursday, February 9, 2017 in the Memorial Chapels and Crematory of Waynesville / St. Robert with Pastor Chris Hendrix officiating. The songs “Amazing Grace” and “How Great Thou Art” were played. Serving as escorts were Jerry Braun, Harry Braun, Michael Ditch, Kevin Ditch, William Munoz, Cody Munoz, Adam Nash and Robert Ditch, Jr. Burial followed in the Sunset Memorial Estates Cemetery of Waynesville. Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Elmer Braun and may be left at the funeral home.
