Emma "Sue" Paul

Emma “Sue” Paul, daughter of the late Baker Elwood and Mary “Opal” Henson Wilson, was born December 6, 1936 in Richland, Missouri and departed this life while lovingly surrounded by her devoted family on Wednesday, April 12, 2017 in the Lake Regional Health System of Osage Beach, Missouri having attained the age of 80 years, 4 months and 6 days. “Sue,” as she was known by, grew up and attended school in Richland were she remained her entire. She was a member of the Assembly of God Church in Richland, Missouri. Sue was married and blessed with seven children to whom she was lovingly devoted to. Granny loved babies and it was normal to see her holding one. Sue also enjoyed taking care of her flowers, crocheting, making baby quilts, cross stitching, butterflies, collecting what-nots, going on long car rides, watching television, listening to music, walking around barefooted and talking on the telephone. However, visits with her family always put a smile on her face and would brighten her days; especially when it came to her precious grandchildren to whom she always gave a special nickname to. Sue was preceded in death by her parents; beloved sons, Barry Dwayne and Roger Paul; grandson, Eric Williams, great-grandchildren, Matthew Henson, Chelsey Steward and Dixie Paul Crossland, three brothers, Leman Wilson and his wife Mona, Baker Wilson, Jr. and Doyle Wilson; two sisters, Violet Oursbourn and her husband Ernest and Bonnie Starnes and her husband, Arthur and her sister-in-law, Thelma Wilson. Sue is survived by her five children: Patsy Elgin of Laquey, MO, Paula Wright, David Paul, Peggy Hall (James) and Danny Paul (Donna) all of Richland, MO; three brothers: Vernon Wilson, Dean Wilson (Peggy) all of Richland, MO and Don Wilson (Doris) of Basehor, Kansas; two sister-in-law’s: Inge Wilson of Lakeland, Florida and Rose Wilson of Belleville, IL; 18 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, her very special friend, Tom Allen of Richland, MO, and other relatives and friends. Sue was a devoted loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend. Her presence and sweet smile will be missed however, the wonderful memories she created with those she loved will remain forever. Services were held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, April 15, 2017 with Pastor Christopher Hendrix, Sr. officiating. Favorite music selections included, “My Angel,” “I Can Only Imagine,” “You Are” and “Love Is Like a Butterfly.” Serving as escorts were Billy Ellzey, John Lloyd, Chad Davis, Junior Starnes, Malcom Smith and Marvin Wilson. Honorary Escorts were Steve Starnes and Mike Wilson. Burial followed in the Oaklawn Cemetery of Richland, Missouri. Services were under the direction of Memorial Chapel of Richland.
