Eva Jewel Lambeth

Eva Jewel Lambeth, daughter of James Isaac and Ada Adrena Boren Perkins, was born April 13, 1925 in Brumley, Missouri, and went home to be with her Lord the afternoon of May 21, 2019 surrounded by her loving family, having attained the age of ninety-four. Eva accepted Christ as a young girl and attended church as long, as her health permitted at Church of Christ in Swedeborg, Missouri. Eva attended school at Hawkeye but later graduated from Swedeborg High School in 1944. Eva’s class was the last group to graduate from Swedeborg High. Eva married Tom Ellis and to this union 4 sons were born, Charley, Tom, Kenny and Paul. When their marriage ended, Eva met Robert “Bob” Morris Lambeth, they were married on May 6, 1961 in Crocker, Missouri, and later the happy couple welcomed their son, Rob into the family home. Eva and Bob shared fifty-six years of love and laughter together before his passing on May 5, 2017. Eva enjoyed listening to the scanner, the radio, and especially listening to gospel music and the obituary programs. She liked to quilt and sew, collect dolls, go mushroom hunting with her best friend Sue, fishing for perch, tending to her vegetable garden, canning, raising chickens, dogs, cats, didn’t matter to her…she just loved critters. Eva was especially enthusiastic when it came time for Christmas it was her favorite holiday! Eva also lovingly referred to as, “Granny,” loved to cook and could whip up a meal at a moment’s notice for her friends and family. She worked alongside her son, Rob and his wife, Carolyn at their old restaurant, Ozark Outdoorsman for nearly seventeen years, where customers were greeted by Eva’s sweet smile and witty sense of humor. It was a treat for Eva, as well as, the patrons, when she’d stop at someone’s table to sit and visit a spell with her beloved friends and neighbors to catch up on the town’s latest news. Eva was a fountain of knowledge and had a memory like a steel trap! Eva loved life and the people in it. She’d never met a stranger and always enjoyed a good time with whomever, and wherever she was. She had a big heart filled with enough love to make everyone feel loved unconditionally. Eva cherished time with her family and friends more than anything this world had to offer. Eva leaves behind to cherish her memory, her sons, Tom (Debra) Ellis of Swedeborg, MO, Kenny (Audrey) Ellis of Crocker, MO, Paul Ellis of Richland, MO, and Rob (Carolyn) Lambeth of Richland, MO; 11 grandchildren: Jamie (Meranda) Ellis, Jerry (Sondra) Ellis, Randy (Karrie) Ellis, Keith (Caitlin) Ellis, Christine Ellis, Mindy (Curt) Rich, Tim Ellis (Sarah Ellzey), Brent (Myhanh) Canterbury, Ashley Bell, Amber (Jeff) Porter and Justin (Heather) Elliott; 22 great grandchildren; her brother-law: Kenneth (Jeanne) Lambeth of Arcola, IL; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and treasured friends. Eva was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband, Bob, one son, Charles David Ellis, four brothers, Barney, George, Ivan and Roy Joe Perkins, five sisters, Mary Myers, Bonnie Ferrante, Wanda Perkins, Ruth Decker and Thelma “Babe” York. Eva will be greatly missed here by all those who knew and loved her…however, heaven just got a little sweeter as God welcomed Eva home! Services were held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 28, 2019 with Bro. Charley “Chuck” Boren and Pastor Doug Jacobson officiating. Bro. Doug Jacobson read a poem entitled, To the One They Call “Granny” by Brady Nicole. Rob Lambeth opened the family-friend share time with a tribute letter to his mother, which was then followed by several others who shared their heart felt special memories of their beloved mother, grandmother, aunt, cousin and friend. Favorite songs that were selected included, “Where the Roses Never Fade,” “I Want to Stroll Over Heaven with You,” “Mama’s Hand,” and “Go Rest High on That Mountain.” Soloist, Bro. Charley “Chuck” Boren sang “Master’s Bouquet” and “When They Ring Those Golden Bells.” Serving as escorts were Kenny Ellis, Paul Ellis, Rob Lambeth, Jerry Ellis, Randy Ellis and Tim Ellis. Honorary escorts were Tom Ellis, Larry Roam, Mike Newman, Bill Goldsmith, Lee Roy Myers, James Boren, Don Wall, Jamie Ellis, Keith Ellis, Christine Ellis, Mindy Rich, Brent Canterbury, Ashley Bell, Justin Elliot and Amber Porter. Burial followed in the Mount View Cemetery near Richland, Missouri. Services were under the care and direction of Memorial Chapel of Richland.
