Evelyn Maxine Foote Davis

Evelyn Maxine Davis was born in Waynesville, Missouri on July 21, 1935 to Paul Leslie Foote and Erdis Iro (Decker) Foote. She entered into the presence of God with her loving children by her side, the morning of Wednesday, February 21, 2024, having attained the age of 88, in Springfield, Missouri. She gave her life to Christ on July 7, 1946 and became a member of the Pleasant Grove Christian Church and was baptized in the Gasconade River on Highway 35 which is now Highway 7. She later moved her membership to the Richland Christian Church in 1957. She attended grade school at Caves Springs near Hanna, and Pleasant Grove near Buckhorn and graduated from Richland High School in the class of 1952. Evelyn then went to work at the International Shoe Factory and worked for four years until she met the love of her life and was united in marriage to Clifford Leo Davis on June 2, 1956. They shared 50 years, 6 months, and 13 days of marriage until his death on December 15, 2006. To this union was born three children, Janet Kay, Julia Ann, and Clifford Leo Jr. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clifford Leo, her parents, Paul and Erdis Foote, one sister, Belle Scott (Robert), one brother, Alva Eugene Foote (Lela Marie), sister-in-law, Doris Jean (Harry), brother-in-law, Gordon Davis; son-in-law, Allen Minor, two nieces, Pauline Foote, and Evelyn Joyce Larson, two nephews, Terry Bruce Herrell, and Barry Kent Herrell, and her special aunt, Pearl Berry. Evelyn leaves to mourn her three children: Janet Kay Minor of Branson, MO, Julia Ann Vasko (Gary) of Springfield, MO, and Cliff Davis of Springfield, MO; sister-in-law, Annora Davis of Linn Creek, MO; nieces, Annette Farias, Charlene Foote, Rebecca Herrell, Brenda Carner, Barbara Hensley, and Mary Krenzer; nephews, Bob Scott, Cecil Foote, Eddie Foote, Charles Davis, Robert Davis, and Brent Herrell; a host of great-great nieces and nephews, other relatives, and friends. Evelyn is home with her Lord and Savior and though she is gone from our sight, she leaves behind her legacy of love in the hearts and minds of the people she loved and who loved her during her lifetime. Services were held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, February 24, 2024, in the Memorial Chapel of Richland with Pastor Landon Justice officiating. The songs, “In the Garden,” “Just One Rose Will Do,” “Go Rest High On that Mountain,” and “Amazing Grace” were played. Serving as escorts were Nathan Farias, Rex Larson, Bob Scott, Morris Decker, Jeff Sheeley, Mark Decker, Cecil Foote, and Ed Foote. Burial followed in the Oaklawn Cemetery of Richland, Missouri. Services were under the care and direction of Memorial Chapel of Richland. Memorial contributions may be made in loving memory of Evelyn Maxine (Foote) Davis to the First Christian Church of Richland and may be left at the funeral home.
