Gary Lee Kubisiak

Gary Lee Kubisiak, son of the late Edmund John Kubisiak, Jr. and Patsy Lou (Rice) Kubisiak Woodman, was born January 20, 1962 in Waynesville, Missouri where he grew up and graduated from Waynesville High School. After graduating from high school, Gary furthered his education and attended college. Gary began working as a master barber and did so for 39 years. He loved taking care of his customers and visiting with them when they came in. On June 25, 1983, Gary was united in marriage to Janet Marie Vess in Waynesville, Missouri and they had just celebrated their 39th wedding anniversary. Gary and Janet were blessed with two children, Christina and Daniel. When Gary was not at the barber shop, he served as a professional baseball umpire for various colleges, high schools, and Little League baseball. He loved watching the kids play and even though there were some tough calls at times, he enjoyed calling each and every game. In his spare time, Gary enjoyed being outdoors; you could find him either fishing or playing golf. He was also an avid NASCAR fan, especially of Jeff Gordon, St. Louis Cardinal baseball fan, Kansas City Chiefs football fan and Tampa Bay Lightning hockey fan. He enjoyed each and every game he attended or watched on TV. Gary passed away Monday, June 27, 2022 at his home in Dyersburg, Tennessee following an extensive cancer illness. He had attained the age of 60 years. He will be sadly missed, but fondly remembered by all those that knew and loved him. Gary leaves to cherish his memory, his wife: Janet Marie (Vess) Kubisiak of the home; one daughter: Christina Eileen Kubisiak of Dyersburg, TN; one son: Daniel Lee Kubisiak and fiancé Karen Maharaj of Tampa, FL; one grandson: Daniel Lee Kubisiak, Jr. “Jr”; one brother: Ed Kubisiak III (Jackie) of Waynesville, MO; one stepsister: Glenda Stauske (Mark) of Indianapolis, IN; one stepbrother: Erik Woodman (James) of Mahomet, IL; two nieces: Amanda Curlee (Justin) of Waynesville, MO and Laura Huffman of Waynesville, MO; one nephew: Jeffery Huffman (Charlotte) of Crocker, MO; four cousins: Rob Rice, Teresa (Rice) Layman, Cary Hansen, and Brad Rice; one uncle: Paul Rice (Janice) of Waynesville, MO; other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, Gary was preceded in death by his grandparents: Cecil and Lucylle (Davis) Rice, and Edmund and Dorothy Kubisiak Sr.; and one nephew: Steven Huffman. Even though he is gone from our sight, Gary’s adventurous spirit will live on in our hearts forever. Services were held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, July 1, 2022 in the Memorial Chapels and Crematory of Waynesville/St. Robert with Danny Wilkerson officiating. The songs “Go Rest High on that Mountain” by Vince Gill”, “Amazing Grace (My Chains are Gone)” by Chris Tomlin, “Dancing in the Sky” by Dani & Lizzy, and “Tears in Heaven” by Eric Clapton were played. Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Gary Kubisiak and may be left at Memorial Chapels and Crematory of Waynesville / St. Robert.
