Gary Alan Seay

Gary Allan Seay, son of Ralph and Rosa Seay, was born on June 20, 1949, in Nuremberg, Germany. His father, Ralph, was an enlisted Army Sergeant, who provided logistics support for the Allied forces as they crossed Europe in WWII. His mother escaped Czechoslovakia, finding haven in Wiesbaden, Germany, where Gary’s parents met. Gary moved from Germany to Fort Eustis, Virginia, to Anadarko, Oklahoma, to Fort Leonard Wood and in 1958, to the home that his dad Ralph and Gary built. Gary attended Richland public schools where he loved learning in FFA and playing basketball as a Richland Bear; he loved his town, his school, and his team; he made many lasting friendships. Summers would find Gary working at the local fish hatchery as well as raising turkeys with his family. Gary furthered his education focusing on Agriculture. After graduating from the University of Missouri, Gary began working for the federal government (in Kansas City and later at Fort Leonard Wood), working first in finance then becoming an IT technician. Gary received his Masters Degree in Management from Webster University, while working at Ft Leonard Wood and managing the family farm in Stoutland, MO. Gary enjoyed time spent with co-workers and retired at the age of 65. Gary met his beloved wife, Linda Louise Carroll (from Waynesville) in 1986. They were together 14 years and united in marriage in 2000. During the 39 years they were together, they shared their love for each other as well as for the outdoors, perhaps most intently, fly fishing and camping at Bennet Springs. Gary always loved being in Nature, enjoying God's creation. On the morning of February 25, 2025, at the age of 75, Gary entered his eternal home to be with the Lord. Gary will be sadly missed but fondly remembered by all those who knew and loved him. He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Linda Seay of the home; two children, Larry Weatherly, Jr (Beth) of Peculiar, MO and Tamma Wilkerson (Tim) of Greenbrier, AR; four grandchildren six great-grandchildren; his mother, Rosa Seay of Austin, TX; his sister, Betty Hallett (David) of Austin, TX, his nieces, Brooke and Katie and his nephew, Austin, along with two grand nieces and three grand nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Ralph Seay. Even though he is gone from our sight, Gary’s kindness and loving spirit will live in our hearts forever. Celebration of Life Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, March 8, 2025, in Memorial Chapel of Richland. Visitation will be held from 10 am until service time at 11 a.m. in Memorial Chapel of Richland. Memorial Contributions can be made in memory of Gary Seay and can be left at Memorial Chapel of Richland.
