Giles Leon Ogle

Giles “Scotty” Leon Ogle, son of James and Myrtle (Stewart) Ogle, was born September 19, 1942 in Lebanon, Missouri. He went home to be with his Lord at 9:28 a.m. November 1, 2013 in his home having attained the age of 71 years. Scotty attended elementary school in Richland and graduated from Richland High School. He later attended two years of college at Missouri Valley College and was majoring in counseling. In 1990, Scotty was united in marriage to Carolyn Sue Worley in Las Vegas, Nevada. They shared over 23 years of marriage together and eight children between the two of them. Scotty worked for several years as a welder in the Gulf and also several plants in the Lebanon area. He worked at the Sheriff’s Department, security guard for Tracker Boats and also at a local thrift store in Lebanon. In his spare time, Scotty enjoyed being outdoors while hunting, fishing, camping and walking in the woods while enjoying his heavenly Father’s creation. He knew no stranger and he loved his family and friends. Scotty was a member of the Church of Yahweh and was baptized at Hull Ford in the late 1990’s. Scotty will be sadly missed by all those that knew and loved him. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Carolyn Sue Ogle of the home; eight children: Matt Ogle and wife Amanda of Seymour, MO, Kelly Asbury and husband Theo of Sedalia, MO, Mike Thomas and wife Karmon of Lebanon, MO, Tena Vice of Penbroke, GA, Cindy Bowlin of Brumley, MO, Karla Eddleman and husband Gary of Eldridge, MO, Terry Thomas and wife Audrey of Roscoe, IL and Diana Huckaby of Lebanon, MO; seven brothers; four sisters; twenty-seven grandchildren; twenty-two great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and several friends. In addition to his parents, Scotty was preceded in death by his adoptive mother and father and one sister. Funeral services were held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, November 7, 2013 in the Memorial Chapels and Crematory with Pastor Gary Hutsell officiating. The songs “Amazing Grace”, “In the Garden” and “Go Rest High on that Mountain” were played. Serving as escorts were Paul Allen, Tommy Allen, Pete Smith, Dave Becker, Joseph Hatfield, John Neff, Rick Donald and Bruce Allee. Serving as honorary escort was Gene Allee. Burial followed in the Idumea Cemetery of Laquey, Missouri. Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Scotty Ogle and may be left at the funeral home.
