Harold "David" Maddox

Harold David Maddox, son of the late Howard Harvey Maddox, Sr., and Rosetta May (Salter) Maddox, was born June 19, 1947 in Waynesville, Missouri, where he grew up and attended school, graduating from Waynesville High School. “Dave,” as he was known by, later moved to St. Louis, Missouri where he lived and worked at a furniture store as a salesman for almost 20 years before moving in to the small community of Richland. Dave enjoyed the comforts of home and liked watching T.V. He had a passion for writing poems and enjoyed giving them to special people in his life. Dave had a friendly disposition and once you met him, you couldn’t help but like him. On the morning of May 25, 2016, Dave passed away in the Richland Care Center and entered into the Holy presence of the Lord having attained the age of 68 years. He will be sadly missed, but fondly remembered by all those who knew and loved him. Dave leaves to cherish his memory, his brother, Daniel Earl Maddox of Tulsa, Oklahoma; his sister Dorothy Roam and her husband, Lindell of Richland, Missouri; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, Dave was preceded in death by his brother, Howard Harvey Maddox, Jr. and a nephew, Roy Lee Watson. Even though Dave has left our sight, his memory will live on in the hearts of those whose lives he forever touched. Services were held at 12:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 31, 2016 in the Memorial Chapel of Richland with Pastor Christopher Hendrix Sr. officiating. Favorite recorded music included “Amazing Grace,” and Stevie Nicks’ song, “Touched by An Angel.” Serving as escorts were, Jason Hare, Ryan Hare, Joshua Hare, Dean Roam and Kevin Roam. Serving as honorary escorts were, Lindell Roam and Daniel Maddox. Burial followed in the Waynesville Memorial Park Cemetery, Waynesville, Missouri. Services were under the direction of Memorial Chapel of Richland.
