Ione Deann Thornhill

Ione Deann Thornhill was born on December 15, 1953 in Waynesville, Mo to Jerry and Velma Hable. She was the 5th of 7 siblings. She went to be with Jesus on February 1, 2021 at the age of 67. Ione accepted Jesus as her savior at a young age. Not long after marriage, Larry and Ione were baptized together in the Gasconade River. She devoted her life to Jesus Christ. She was a prayer warrior for her family. She raised her family in the ways of the Lord. Ione loved life. She loved telling stories about her 6 siblings Butch, Sharon, Mike, Patti, Beverly, and Debbie. Her siblings meant so much to Ione. The cooking and cackling gave a brief glimpse into how close they all were and the many memories they shared together. Ione was married to Larry Thornhill on April 18, 1974. After 46 years of marriage, he was still the love of her life. They enjoyed drinking coffee on the back deck every morning with their dog Buddy and feeding the birds and squirrels. They had many adventures together and supported each other through the good times and bad. Ione’s greatest pride and joy were her two sons Adam and Jeremy. She talked about them constantly and the pride that she had for those two will always be immeasurable. She loved them more than anything else this world had to offer. Ione then found a new reason for her heart to beat and that was her four grandsons, Cannon, Noah, Josiah, and Reggie. Ione’s chest would literally puff when talking about her four boys. When Ione became a Bacca she found her true calling. This is what God had created her for, to love and nurture her four greatest treasures. Ione was a wife, mother, Bacca, godmother, sister, aunt, and dear friend to so many. We will hold the group texts, stories about life, advice, Vicks on our heels, spaghetti sauce recipe, and love that you gave us near to our hearts forever. We are so thankful that Jesus promises that we will see you again. Until then, run with Jesus, fish with a bobber, be with your Mama, Daddy, Katherine, Penny, and Jack. Save us a seat around the throne of Jesus. We will see you soon. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. Friday, February 5, 2021 in the Memorial Chapels and Crematory of Waynesville / St. Robert. Burial will follow in the Waynesville Memorial Park Cemetery of Waynesville, MO. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 12:00 p.m. Friday, February 5, 2021 in the Memorial Chapels and Crematory of Waynesville / St. Robert. Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Ione Thornhill and may be left at Memorial Chapels and Crematory of Waynesville / St. Robert.
