Jackie Dale Fenton

Jackie Dale Fenton, son of the late William Bertley and Mary Ellen (Hance) Fenton, was born September 25, 1951 in Waynesville, Missouri where he grew up and attended school. On October 24, 2001 in Rolla, Missouri, Jackie was united in marriage to Florence “Missie” May. They shared over 13 years of marriage together and many wonderful memories. Jackie was an avid car lover. He sold and cleaned cars as a job, but it was more than just a way to make a living, it was his passion. Even in his spare time, you could find him tinkering with a car. He also enjoyed watching NASCAR and westerns and loved listening to Elvis. Jackie was a people person. He enjoyed making people laugh. He was also a great cook and people knew him as the “best cook in town”. He loved visiting with friends, but especially his family. Jackie passed away at 6:04 a.m. Friday, October 17, 2014 in the General Leonard Wood Army Community Hospital of Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri having attained the age of 63 years. Jackie leaves to cherish his memory, his wife: Missie Fenton, of the home; six children: Stacey Wray of Jefferson City, MO, Jackie Fenton, Jr. of Waynesville, MO, Cassie Oursler of Waynesville, MO, Scott Bell of Springfield, MO, Allison Fenton of the home and Chasity Williams of the state of Oklahoma; seven grandchildren; five siblings: Billy Fenton (Stephanie) of Waynesville, MO, Donald Fenton (Beverly) of Plato, MO, Joann Simpson of Marshall, VA, Debra Baker (Terry) of Newburg, MO and Charles Fenton of Waynesville, MO; one sister-in-law: Annette Hance of Waynesville, MO; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, Jackie was preceded in death by one brother, Charlie Hance and one infant sister, Barbara Fenton. Even though he is gone from our sight, he will love on in our hearts forever. Services were held at 3:00 p.m. Monday, October 20, 2014 in the Memorial Chapels and Crematory of Waynesville / St. Robert with Rev. Danny Graves and Rev. Keith Carnahan officiating. The songs “I Did It My Way”, “Amazing Grace”, “Hotel California”, “I’ll Walk the Line”, “Desparado” and “Love Me Tender” were played. Serving as escorts were Billie Fenton, Charles Fenton, Chuck Ousley, Scott Bell, Nathan Carmack and Colten Carmack. Burial followed in the Sunset Memorial Estates Cemetery of Waynesville. Services were under the direction of Memorial Chapels and Crematory of Waynesville / St. Robert. Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Jackie Fenton and may be left at the funeral home.
