James Robert "Bobby" Mitchell

James Robert Mitchell, “Bobby” as he was known by, was the son of the late Earl and Florence (York) Anderson. He was born in St. Louis, Missouri on November 4, 1944 however; Bobby lived in Swedeborg, Missouri most of his life. Bobby made a profession of faith and lived his life accordingly in service to his Lord and attended First Baptist Church in Swedeborg. He loved his church family and greatly enjoyed fellowshipping with every one there. Bobby worked at the Sheltered Workshop in Richland, Missouri for several years, and always looked forward to his days being spent there with his friends. Bobby’s life revolved around his family, friends, and church. He never met a stranger and he loved talking on the phone and would call, visit, or, just go check on people daily. Bobby always welcomed everyone into his little home. He had a tender, loving heart and was kind to everyone. On the morning of Wednesday, September 19, 2018 Bobby left his earthly home and went home to Jesus, having attained the age of 73 years. The wonderful memories Bobby made during his lifetime, will be treasured forever in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. He leaves behind to cherish his memory his two nephews: Jerry Britt and his wife, Barbara of Richland, MO and David Britt and his wife, Tracy of Lebanon, MO; one niece: Tina Gregory and her husband, Tim of Stoutland, MO; his uncle: Roy York of Swedeborg, MO; and his significant other, Margaret Tarpy of Crocker, MO; as well as, other relatives and friends. Bobby was preceded in death by his parents, and two sisters: Shelba Toops and Linda Britt. Services were held at 12:00 Noon, Friday, September 19, 2018 in the First Baptist Church of Swedeborg, Missouri with Pastor Mark Tallant officiating. Songs, “When I Get Where I’m Going” and Dancing in the Sky” were played. Serving as escorts were Jerry Britt, David Britt, Justin Britt, Chris Black, Greg Black and Wesley Poulson. Burial followed in the Crocker Memorial Park Cemetery, Crocker, Missouri. Services were under the care and direction of Memorial Chapel of Richland.
