Janet Marie (Rosipal) Archibald

Janet Marie (Rosipal) Archibald was born August 22, 1956 to her loving parents, Gilbert and Jo Ann (Loseman) Rosipal. Janet was the first of eight children of the Rosipal’s. Janet was baptized as an infant into the Holy Catholic Church. She was a very faithful and active member of St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church, St. Robert, Missouri. Janet was raised in the Waynesville/St. Robert area. She graduated from Waynesville High School with the Class of 1974. She was active in Choir, Glee Club, Drill Team, Keyetts and Girl Scouts during her high school years. After leaving Waynesville, she moved to the Kansas City area where she began her working career. While living and working in Kansas City, Janet met the love of her life, Patrick Archibald. They were married on October 4, 1986 in Kearny, Missouri. Janet and Pat were partners in life, business and parenting. They shared over 29 years and one daughter, April Dawn Archibald. Janet was a true entrepreneur. She began her working career as a Bakery Manager for Sunfresh Bakery in K.C.; she was featured in the Supermarket Business Magazine in 1990. She soon started a successful home cleaning business that she had for many years and eventually moved back to Waynesville when the family relocated in 1999. Once here in Waynesville, Janet and Pat purchased Bill’s Sporting Goods and founded “Honey Do Construction”. Cake decorating, gardening, K.C. Chiefs Football and tap dancing were among her passions. Janet’s talent in home décor along with her flair for landscaping, especially beautiful flower garden areas was a valuable asset in their home construction business. Her homes were always warm and welcoming. Every special occasion was made extra special with one (or more) of Janet’s personalized cakes. Janet had a great love for life; she strived to live each day to the fullest. She maintained a wonderful sense of humor that she used to comfort her family, friends and caregivers during her illness. She had the ability to show great compassion and care for others. She always made sure to leave notes of thanks and special mementos for all that assisted her. Janet was an advocate and involved with “Relay for Life” and the Ladies Alter and Rosary Society. She had a special love for those less fortunate and took great pride in donating and volunteering at the local “Good Sam”. One of her joys was having the ability to sponsor a child in need from the Philippines. Even in her death she wanted to help establish an organization to help families of those struggling with cancer in the Pulaski County area. Janet is survived by her husband, Pat of the home; parents: Gil & Jo Ann Rosipal of Waynesville and Martha Archibald of Gladstone, MO; one daughter: April Dawn McClure (Brandon) of Nixa; seven siblings: Joseph Rosipal of the state of Colorado, Gail Bush (Bret) of Liberty, MO, Gilbert Rosipal (Terri) of Austin, TX, Charli Hartley (Mike) of Waynesville, Gina Foster (Tim) of Waynesville, John Rosipal (Debbie) of Waynesville and Jeffrey Rosipal of Austin, TX; very special young friend: Emmalie Sargeant several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her grandparents and her father-in-law: Harold Archibald. Mass of Christian Burial was held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, July 23, 2011 in the St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church with Father John Groner officiating. April McClure, Janet’s daughter, gave a beautiful eulogy for her mother and Cheryl Trindade also recalled her wonderful memories of Janet. Mike Beattie and Cheryl Trindade provided the music and was accompanied by organist Francesca Lee. Serving as escorts were Patrick Shoemaker, Grant Foster, Chase Foster, Cole Foster, Jeramy Bush, Garrett Hawkins, John Pierpoint and Tel Rosipal. Burial followed in the Resurrection Cemetery of St. Robert. Services were under the direction of Memorial Chapels and Crematory of Waynesville / St. Robert. Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Janet Archibald to assist Pulaski County Cancer Patients and may be left at the funeral home.
