Jennifer Wells

Jennifer Wells was born on June 1, 1946, in London, England, to the late James Alfred Hume and Violet Elizabeth (Harber) Hume. At the tender age of five, she and her mother embarked on a significant journey, traveling to the United States aboard the final voyage of the Queen Mary ship. Upon arriving in New York, they registered as immigrants and continued their journey to California. The family eventually made their home in Bell Gardens, California, where Jennifer spent her childhood and later graduated from high school. Jennifer met Clyde William Wells, a member of the United States military. The couple was married on May 15, 1965, in Bell Gardens. Their union spanned over forty years, during which they were blessed with five children. Their time together was filled with love and devotion, until Clyde's passing on July 5, 2005. As a military spouse, Jennifer experienced life at various duty stations alongside her husband. In 1983, the family relocated to Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri, and chose to settle there following Clyde's retirement from the military. Jennifer dedicated herself to raising her family, creating a warm and loving home for her children. Her family was always her main focus, and she cherished spending time with them. In her free time, Jennifer enjoyed watching different television series and practicing her crocheting skills. On Tuesday, February 10, 2026, Jennifer Wells passed away at her home near Dixon, Missouri, at the age of 79. She is deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew and loved her. Jennifer leaves behind a loving family: her five children, Clyde Wells of Dixon, MO; Tabatha Watts (Robert) of Dixon, MO; Ireatha Poole (Jimmy) of Dixon, MO; Irene McClellan (Edwin) of Devil’s Elbow, MO; and Allen Wells (Lori) of Lebanon, MO. She is also survived by sixteen grandchildren, thirty-six great-grandchildren, her brother Larry Dugat of Waynesville, MO, numerous nieces and nephews, and many other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents and husband, Jennifer was preceded in death by her brother Billy Dugat. Though she is no longer with us, Jennifer’s love for her family lives on in the hearts of all who knew her. Graveside Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 17, 2026, in the Missouri Veterans Cemetery FLW in Waynesville, under the care and direction of Memorial Chapels and Crematory of Waynesville/St. Robert. Memorial Contributions can be made in memory of Jennifer Wells, and may be left at the Memorial Chapel.
