Jimmie Lee Jones, Jr.

Jimmie Lee Jones, Jr., son of the late James Lee and Lillian N. (Rowden) Jones, was born July 30, 1953 in Waynesville, Missouri. Jimmie lived in the Richland area until the age of six before moving to Chicago, Illinois where he graduated High School at age 18. He lived most of his life in Steger, Illinois. Jimmie fell in love with Lynne Diane Condon and the two were married on July 15, 1991, in Mountain Home, Arkansas. They shared nearly twenty five years together along with Jimmie’s four children, Jennifer, Jimmie Lee, Joseph and Kristie. In 2013, Jimmie and Lynne moved to Richland, Missouri, fulfilling Jimmie’s dream of purchasing his beloved grandparent’s farm. Even though his time there brief, a lifetime of precious memories was made as he lived each day to its fullest. Jimmie worked for Roadway as a spotter for twenty five years. In 2002 he began working as an orderly at Ingalls Hospital for ten years before moving. In his earlier years, Jimmie was a member of the Moose Lodge and the American Pool Players Association. In his spare time, Jimmie enjoyed being outdoors camping, fishing and hunting. However, his treasures in this life were his family, especially his grandchildren, whom he loved and adored. Jimmie passed away February 23, 2016 in Lake Regional Hospital having attained the age of 62 years. Though he is gone from our sight and will be sadly missed, his legacy will live on forever by those who knew and loved him. Jimmie leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife, Lynne of the home; four children: Jennifer Messino (Chris) of Channahon, IL, Jimmie Lee Jones III (Kathryna) of Wilmette, IL, Joseph Jones (Laura) of Culpeper, VA and Kristie Jones of Oak Forest, IL; 5 grandchildren: Alexis Jones, Abbie Derment, Kallie Jones, Blayse Messino and Madelyn Jones; one brother: Michael Jones (Sue) of Hickory Hills, IL; one niece: Tammy Fisher (Larry) of Orland Park, IL; one nephew: Jason Jones (Nikki) of Orland Park, IL; several other relatives and friends. Jimmie was preceded in death by his parents. Services were held at 12:00 Noon, Saturday, February 27, 2016 in the Memorial Chapel of Richland with Pastor William Brown officiating. Favorite music selections included “How Great Thou Art,” “Amazing Grace” and “I Dream a Dream.” Serving as pallbearers were Jimmie Lee Jones III, Woody Avey, Joseph A. Jones, James Shaffner, Chris Messino and Kristie Jones. Burial followed in the Oaklawn Cemetery of Richland, Missouri. Services were under the direction of Memorial Chapel of Richland. Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Jimmie Lee Jones, Jr. to either the American Cancer Association or the Dogwood Animal Shelter and may be left at the funeral home.
