MSG (Ret) Joe William Wilkinson

Joe William Wilkinson, son of the late Freddie Dennis Wilkinson and Edna Lucille (Anderson) Wilkinson, was born August 12, 1962, in Denver, Colorado. Joe entered the United States Army and served his country faithfully until his retirement after 20 years of faithful service. He had attained the rank of Master Sergeant and earned several awards and commendations; some of which include: Meritorious Service Medal (3rd Award), Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal (9th Award), Army Good Conduct Medal (6th Award), National Defense Service Medal, Non Commissioned Officer’s Professional Development Ribbon with Numeral 3, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon (3rd Award), Expert Marksmanship Qualification Badge with Grenade Bar, Sharpshooter Marksmanship Qualification Badge with Rifle Bar, Driver and Mechanic Badge with Driver-W Bar, US Army Gold Recruiter Badge, US Army Basic Recruiter Badge with 3 Gold Achievement Stars, and US Army Basic Recruiter. While serving in the military, Joe met a young lady, Sun Tae Pak. On January 15, 1986, in Seoul, Korea, they began their lives together and they were ultimately blessed with three daughters: Amie, Cinthia, and Jeanette. After retiring from the military, Joe was able to spend more time with his family, whom he loved dearly. His wife and three beautiful daughters were his world and as the grandchildren started coming along, he always looked forward to spending time with them as much as possible. On Saturday, July 5, 2025, Joe left this world way too soon having attained the age of 62 years. He will be sadly missed but fondly remembered by all those that knew and loved him. He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife: Sun Wilkinson of the home; three children: Amie St. Laurent (Daniel) of Atkinson, NH, Cinthia Maston (Nathaniel) of Aurora, CO, and Jeanette Wilkinson of Las Vegas, NV; five grandchildren: Dominic, William, Henry, Kyra, and Jack; sister: Mary Phillips (Jackie) of Abilene, KS; several other relatives and friends. Even though he is gone from our sight, Joe’s love for his family will live on in our hearts forever and he would want us to adopt his philosophy….“Live life as it takes you but never run away!” Services were held at 12:30 p.m. Thursday, July 10, 2025 in the Memorial Chapels and Crematory of Waynesville / St. Robert with Chaplain (CPT) Patrice Rose officiating. Burial with military honors followed in the Missouri Veterans Cemetery of Waynesville with military honors being provided by the United States Army of Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. Services were under the care and direction of Memorial Chapels and Crematory of Waynesville / St. Robert. Memorial contributions may be made in memory of MSG (Ret) Joe Wilkinson and may be left at Memorial Chapels and Crematory of Waynesville / St. Robert.
