Jo Ellen Morgan

Sister Jo Ellen Morgan was born on May 15, 1949 in Columbus, Ohio. She was the oldest of three children born to the union of Theodore Rogers and Billy Jean Vaux. She went home to be with the Lord the afternoon of December 8, 2010 at 4:15 p.m. in Springfield, Missouri at St. John’s Regional Medical Center. Sister Jo Ellen attended Columbus High School in Columbus, Ohio and graduated with the class of 1967. She went on to further her education at Okloosa Waltor Community College in Fort Walton Beach, Florida where she majored in Early Childhood Development. After college, she entered the work force as a manager for the Fort Walton Beach Community Dry Cleaners. She attended Abundant Life Church of Fort Walton Beach where she would later meet her future husband, Associate Pastor John Morgan of New Beginnings Revival Center. Sister Jo Ellen was a woman of great faith who touched the lives of all those that she encountered. She served in various ministries such as a member of the Board of Directors, Sunday School teacher, church secretary, head greeter and Sunday School Superintendant of New Beginnings Revival Center. She was known for her endurance and infectious smile. Some of her hobbies included crafts, cooking and floral arranging along with being an excellent home maker. Associate Pastors John and Jo Ellen Morgan were married on August 20, 1992 in Fort Walton Beach, Florida. They have five children together along with two others they helped raise. Sister Jo Ellen was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by her husband of 17 wonderful years, Associate Pastor John Morgan (New Beginnings Revival Center) of Waynesville, MO; three sons: Dwayne Carlton House of Houston, TX, Neely Louis House of Baltimore, MD and Ramon Dajon Morgan of Los Angeles, CA; three daughters: Ashley Daine Morgan of Los Angeles, CA, Tiffany Jonnea Morgan of Houston, TX and Christina Evans of Newton, MS. Five grandchildren: Brittanie and Keli of Houston, TX, Fazion of Newton, MS, and Kaelon and Vida of Los Angeles, CA. One sister: Lorraine Anderson of Columbus, OH; one great grandchild: Ruby Carmen Madison Dent of Houston, TX. Sister Jo Ellen was preceded in death by her father, mother and one sister. A homegoing service was held at 5:00 p.m. Sunday, December 12, 2010 in the New Beginnings Revival Center of Waynesville with Pastor Dan Biggs officiating. Sister Quandra Horton opened the service with prayer and Sister Shatara Seymour read the obituary. Sister Lynetta Powell and Jack Kelley sang “I Can Only Imagine” and the choir sang “There is None Like You” and “If You Miss Me”. Words of inspiration were given by Pastor Wess Morgan, Jr. and words of reflection were given by Pastor Darlene Biggs. Several family members and friends recalled their wonderful memories of Sister Jo Ellen. Minister Anthony Galloway closed the service with prayer. Serving as escorts were Minister Sir Avington, Bro. Dempsey Hall, Minister Kim Harris, Bro. Desean Stokes, Minister James Campbell and Bro. Matthew Dzuricky. Services were under the direction of Memorial Chapels and Crematory of Waynesville / St. Robert. Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Sister Jo Ellen to the New Beginnings Revival Center and may be left at the funeral home.
