John Truman Quesenberry

John Truman Quesenberry, son of the late Charles Homer and Icy Marie (Cook) Quesenberry, was born January 12, 1926 in Hanna, Missouri. Truman, as he was called by his family and friends, grew up mainly in the Bloodland, Hanna, Fairview area, but spent some time in Lebanon. After graduating from high school, he was united in marriage to the love of his life, Willie Ann Howlett on April 12, 1947. They were blessed with five children: Patricia, John, Bill, Connie Sue and Debra Ann. Truman was a hardworking man. He worked for Howard Ready Mix for several years and also worked as a civil service employee for a time. His main passion was farming. He enjoyed working on his farm and providing for his family. At an early age, Truman made a profession of faith and was a member of the Fairview Baptist Church. He was instrumental in rebuilding the church after it was destroyed by fire. He was a faithful member and worked wherever he was able to. In his spare time, Truman loved riding his horses on trail rides, working in the vegetable and flower gardens, watching squirrels and going fishing. Most importantly, he treasured the times spent with his family and friends. Truman went home to be with his Lord Friday, December 5, 2014 in the Mercy Hospital of Lebanon, Missouri having attained the age of 88 years, 10 months and 23 days. Truman is survived by his three children: Pat Hays and special friend Dean Moore of Roby, Mo, John Quesenberry and wife, Darla, of Laquey, MO and Bill Quesenberry of Laquey, MO; nine grandchildren: Jeff (Barb) Smith, Tammy Smith, Jason (Kerry) Smith, Amy Quesenberry (Bill Alexander), Susie Quesenberry, Josh Quesenberry, Charlotta (Nathan) Wallander, Timmy (Shayna) Sufficool, and Tyler (Tammy) Sufficool; twenty-three great grandchildren: Alicia Rose (Jessie Elseman), Cody (Amy) Smith, Hali Smith, Allison Smith, JJ Smith, Jessie Dulong, Grace Dulong, Jacob Forshey, Ella Deckard, Patton Deckard, Curtis Wallander, Colten Wallander, Courtney Wallander, Jimmy Jo Sufficool, Libertie Sufficool, Emmet Sufficool, Jillian Sufficool, Danielle Autry, Troy Daniel Autry, Mahayley Autry, Damiean Taylor, Mackenzie Donigan and Braydon Donigan; two great great granddaughters: Paisley King-Smith and Presley Rose; several other realtives and friends. In addition to his parents, Truman was preceded in death by his wife, Willie Ann; two daughters: Connie Sue and Debra Ann; and two great grandchildren: Ashytn and Landon Sufficool. Funeral services were held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, December 11, 2014 in the Fairview Baptist Church of Laquey, Missouri with Pastor Larry Suggs and Dr. Francis Stiles officiating. Soloist Becky Lercher sang “Beyond the Sunset”, “Precious Memories” and “On the Wings of a Dove”. Serving as escorts were Jeff Smith, Jason Smith, Josh Quesenberry, Timmy Sufficool, Nathan Wallander and Tyler Sufficool. Serving as honorary escorts were Leroy Auguchon, Troy Autrey, Donnie Howlett and Larry Echelberry. Burial followed in the Fairview Cemetery of Laquey, Missouri. Services were under the direction of Memorial Chapels and Crematory of Waynesville / St. Robert. Memorial contributions may be made in memory of John Truman Quesenberry and may be left at the funeral home.
