Johnnie Killian West

On January 12, 1967, Johnnie Killian West entered this world in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. The son of the late Johnnie H. West and Linda Cheryl (Shearer) West, Johnnie grew up in Fresno, California. He attended school, played football in high school and graduated from Fresno High School. Johnnie entered the United States Marine Corp and served his country faithfully until his honorable discharge in 1990. He had attained the rank of Corporal and earned several awards and commendations. On September 28, 2003, Johnnie was united in marriage to Jo Janelle Boyce in Fresno, California. They shared over 21 years of marriage together and many wonderful memories. Four years ago, Johnnie and Jo moved to Waynesville, Missouri. Johnnie worked in sales with Comcast for several years. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, baking with his grandchildren, and spending time with his family. He also enjoyed music and played the piano very well. Johnnie entered his heavenly home Thursday, December 5, 2024, in his home in Waynesville having reached the age of 57 years. He will be sadly missed, but fondly remembered by all those that knew and loved him. He is survived by his wife, Jo West of the home in Waynesville; five children, Samantha West of the state of OR, Courtney Wellborn of the state of CA, Bryanna Waldowski (Mark) of Waynesville, MO, Emily Speer of the state of CA, and Jeramiah Bowles (Stefanie) of Jacksonville, FL; five grandchildren, Maddison, Leon, Wilken, Kiera, and Myles; two sisters, Gale Simpson of the state of IN, and Chrissy Smith of the state of OK; his brother, Ronnie West of the state CA; as well as a host of other relatives and friends. Even though he is gone from our sight, Johnnie’s commitment to his country and love for his family will live on in our hearts forever. Services were held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, December 14, 2024 in the First Assembly of God Church in St. Robert, Missouri with Pastor Travist Patrick officiating. The songs "Believe" by Brooks & Dunn, "In Case You Didn't Know" by Brett Young, "I Can Only Imagine" by Mercy Me, and "When I Said I Do" by Clint Black were played. Burial with military honors were held in the Missouri Veterans Cemetery of Waynesville with military honors provided by the Missouri Honors Team. Services were under the care and direction of Memorial Chapels and Crematory of Waynesville / St. Robert. Memorial contributions in memory of Johnnie West may be made and may be left at the funeral home.
