Judith Irene Sanchez

Judith Irene Sanchez, daughter of the late Kenneth LeRoy and Kathlyn Elizabeth (Brookhouser) Taylor, was born December 14, 1939 in Junction City, Kansas. She departed this life Thursday, August 2, 2012 in her home having attained the age of 72 years, 7 months and 19 days. Judy grew up in Junction City and graduated from high school in 1958. She began working as a cashier and assistant manager at the Main Post Exchange at Fort Riley, Kansas. It was there that she met the love of her life, Francisco Sanchez. On January 3, 1960 in Junction City, Kansas, she and Frank were united in marriage. They shared over 52 years of marriage together and were blessed with three children: Patricia Elena, Kathlyn Marie and Joseph Michael. Due to Frank being in the military, Judy and the family moved on several occasions. Judy was privileged to stay at home and raise her family. She loved taking care of her family and they were the most important thing to her. In her spare time, she enjoyed playing the piano and collected porcelain dolls. She was a member of the Ladies Legend of Honor and the Shriners Ladies Auxiliary. She also was an Avon representative from 1990 until 2010. Judy and Frank also attended church at the Main Post Chapel. Judy will be sadly missed by all those that knew and loved her. She leaves to cherish her memory her husband, Frank of the home; three children: Patricia E. Rodriguez (Laverne Hendrix) of Waynesville, MO, Kathlyn M. Sovell (Nicholas) of Utica, MN and Joseph M. Sanchez (Robin) of Katy, TX; five siblings: Phyllis E. Battle of White City, KS, Barbara K. Roth of Junction City, KS, Karen Sue Cooper of Sacramento, CA, William “Billy” LeRoy Taylor of Willis, TX and Kenneth M. Taylor of Wichita, KS; nine grandchildren: Bryan, Darren, Kristine, Jacob, and Daniel Sovell, Lauren, Kristin, and Brandon Sanchez and Brandie Caldwell; one great grandchild: Gabriel Caldwell; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents, Judy was preceded in death by one infant brother, Charles Scott Taylor. Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 4, 2012 in the Memorial Chapels and Crematory of Waynesville / St. Robert. The songs “You Are My Special Angel”, “Amazing Grace” and “We’ll Meet Again” were played. Serving as escorts were Hal Danridge, B.J. Benton, Dan Deardorff, Bill Taylor, Neil HAasin, Joseph Sanchez, Darren Sovell and Bryan Sovell. Serving as honorary escorts were Butch Arnold, Edgar Irizarry, Jack Butler, Bob Carter, Vern Hendrix and Kenny Taylor. Burial followed in the Sunset Memorial Estates Cemetery of Waynesville. Memorial contributions may be to the American Kidney Foundation or the Shriner’s Hospital and may be left at the funeral home.
