Kenneth Leroy Echelberry

Kenneth Leroy Echelberry, son of the late James Earl Echelberry and Dorothy Edrie (Carter) Echelberry, was born January 22, 1951, in Scotland County, Missouri. As a young boy, Kenneth and his family moved to central Missouri and he attended elementary school in Willow Springs, Missouri. They eventually came to the Pulaski County area and Kenneth attended Laquey Middle School before transferring to high school in Richland, Missouri where he graduated. On October 21, 1969, Kenneth was united in marriage to Carolyn Sue Graves. They just celebrated 55 years of marriage together and they were blessed with two children: Melissa and Jim. Kenneth was a hardworking and committed man and took great pride in providing for his family. He began working for United Telephone as a lineman and he continued his employment with them for 30 years before retiring. After retiring, Kenneth was able to do more of the things that he enjoyed. He enjoyed raising Holstien steers, going hunting and fishing, riding horses, doing leather work and painting. He was an avid sports fan and was part of a bowling league for several years and while he was with the telephone company, he played in a softball league. Kenneth loved just sitting on the porch, watching animals and visiting with his friends and family. Most importantly, he loved his family dearly and treasured all the time that they could spend together, especially the grandchildren. His enjoyment of God’s creation was due in part to his relationship with the Lord. He loved God with his whole heart and was in awe of His creation. Kenneth went home to be with his Lord on Wednesday, October 9, 2024, in his home in Laquey having attained the age of 73 years. He will be sadly missed, but fondly remembered by all those that knew and loved him. He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife: Carolyn Echelberry of the home; two children: Melissa North of Laquey, MO, and Jim Echelberry (Hannah) of Laquey, MO; five grandchildren: Logan Crutchfield (Skyeler) of Lebanon, MO, and Griffon Echelberry, Tobyn Echelberry, Samuel North, and Elizabeth North, all of Laquey, MO; one brother: Larry Echelberry (Bertha) of Waynesville, MO; two sisters: Lorna Baldwin (Doug) of Laquey, MO, and Vickie Smith of Laquey, MO; several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. In addition to his parents, Kenneth was preceded in death by three brothers: Glen, Dwayne, and Gary; and two sisters: Carol Nicholi and lora Echelberry. Even though he is gone from our sight, Kenneth’s love for God and his commitment to his family will live on in our hearts forever. Services were held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 15, 2024 in the Memmorial Chapels in Waynesville, Missouri with Pastor Danny Graves officiating. Jim and Hannah Echelberry recalled their wonderful memories of Kenneth. The songs "In the Garden" and "Celebrate Me Home" were sung by Becky Lercher. Serving as escorts were Skyeler Crutchfield, Logan Crutchfield, Griffon Echelberry, Tobyn Echelberry, Samuel North, and Elizabeth North. Burial followed in the Fairview Cemetery of Laquey, Missouri. Services were under the care and direction of Memorial Chapels and Crematory of Waynesville / St. Robert. Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Kenneth Echelberry and may be left at Memorial Chapels and Crematory of Waynesville / St. Robert.
