Kevin Elijah Harris

Kevin Elijah Harris, son of the late David Scott Harris and Anna Irene (Gill) Harris was born July 20, 1970, in Waynesville, Missouri. He grew up in Richland, Missouri where he attended school graduating with the RHS Class of 88. After graduating, Kevin went to work for Detroit Tool in Lebanon, then on to Wal-Mart Distribution Center, and later began his career with Major Brands – Breakthru Beverage Distributing for the next fifteen years, where he was employed at the time of his passing. On February 14, 2024 in Boone County, Missouri, Kevin married the love of his life and best friend, Carmen “Sue” Daugherty. Over the years they were inseparable, packing loads of laughter, fun, and love into each and every day. Kevin greatly enjoyed going on his gambling trips, being outdoors, whether farming, hunting, fishing, and tinkering with Rob Lambeth and friends. He could also be found mowing someone’s yard and just loved helping folks no matter what their need was. Kevin was committed in serving the community in which he loved and lived in and also served as Alderman for the City of Richland, Ward II. He sought out ways to help improve his beloved town. On the morning of Monday, April 28, 2025, Kevin passed away due to injuries he sustained in an automobile accident on highway 133 North of Richland having attained the age of 54 and was preceded in death by his parents, David (2021) and Anna (2014). Kevin leaves behind to cherish his memory, his loving wife, Carmen “Sue” Daugherty - Harris of Richland, MO; his 2 daughters: Taylor Lindsey Harris (Dave) of Ozark, MO, and Carson Murray (Cyrus) of Lebanon, MO; 3 grandchildren: Reese, Milo and Wren; one sister: Darlene Fisher of Richland, MO, the Daugherty family: Ingrid Daugherty (Dana) of Richland, Patricia Daugherty – Struemph (James) of St. Elizabeth, MO, Jacqueline Daugherty of Richland, MO, Dwyne Daugherty (Julie) of Richland, MO, Sandria Daugherty - Rogers (Ron) of Brumley MO, Rebecca Daugherty – Ward (Derek) of Columbia, MO, and Leonard Daugherty III (Kristy) of Brumley, MO, Sarah Williams (Mike) of Richland, MO; several nieces, nephews; as well as a host of other relatives, colleagues, and many, many friends. Kevin will always be remembered for his great sense of humor, his big beautiful bright smile and how he enjoyed life and the many things it had to offer. The love of family and good friends brought great joy and fun to Kevin during his short life here on earth, however, the wonderful memories he made with those he loved will be held tightly within the hearts of those who knew him until we meet again. Services were held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, May 3, 2025 with Eulogist, and close friend, Rob Lambeth officiated. Kevin’s wife, Sue Daugherty-Harris shared heartfelt thoughts, and other family and friends. Recorded songs, “Bittersweet” and “Sound of Silence” were played. Interment followed in the Oaklawn Cemetery of Richland, MO with Father Michael Murphy officiating. Services were under the care and direction of Memorial Chapel of Richland. Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Kevin Elijah Harris and may be left at the Memorial Chapel of Richland.
