Lloyd Franklin Gan

Lloyd Franklin Gan was born April 3, 1937, in Bloodland, Missouri, to Willard Anderson Gan and Nancy Jane (Exendine) Gan. Lloyd peacefully left this world behind on the sunny afternoon of Thursday, June 23, 2022, having attained the age of eighty-five. Lloyd grew up in Bloodland where he attended school. On March 16, 1957, Lloyd married the love of his life, and best friend, Katherine Sue Howlett. They were married over sixty-five years before Katherine’s passing on June 15, 2022. God blessed Lloyd and Katherine with four children, Larry Lloyd, who went home to Jesus at a tender age, Cherie, Terry, and Carrie. Lloyd and Katherine were nearly inseparable, and their love withstood the test of time as they lovingly raised their family. Throughout Lloyd’s working years as a car dealer, road construction worker, carpenter, building houses, and later on in life taking on the role of a Handy Man working odd jobs; Lloyd believed in working hard. His work ethic was one of Lloyd’s many wonderful attributes. He believed in a good honest, hard day’s work for his wages; in an era where a man’s word and a handshake was all that one needed. Lloyd enjoyed the simple things in life, hunting, fishing, taking care of his dogs, guineas, geese, and ducks. He and Katherine greatly enjoyed going to auctions, swap meets, and visiting with folks along the way however, family meant the world to Lloyd, and he always looked forward seeing each and every one. He is preceded in death by his parents, Willard and Nancy, his wife, Katherine, infant son, Larry Lloyd Gan, and one grandson, Travis Lee Gan, sisters, Vera York, Martha Tucker, Mary Patton, and Wanda Flynn. Lloyd is survived by his three children: Cherie Durreman (Joseph) of Richland, MO, Terry Gan (Debra) of Richland, MO, and Carrie Wilson (Craig) of Waynesville, MO, three grandchildren: Levi Durreman (Charlotte) of Crocker, MO, Cody Durreman (Michelle) of Richland, MO, Adam Gan (Jessi) of Richland, MO; one great grandson: Izan Durreman; one brother: Chester Gan of Richland, MO; nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives, and friends. Lloyd left a wonderful legacy for his family. He was a gentle, kindhearted man who loved God, his family, and friends deeply. Lloyd is home now with Jesus, his beloved wife, Katherine, and the family he’s longed to see. Rest thou good and faithful servant, your work here on earth is done. A funeral service was held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, June 27, 2022, in the Memorial Chapel of Richland with Pastor Danny Graves officiating. Songs, “Precious Lord Take my Hand,” and “Amazing Grace” by Elvis were played, as well as “Dancing in the Sky” by Dani & Lizzie. Escorts were Terry Gan, Adam Gan Levi Durreman, Cody Durreman, Joe Durreman, and Craig Wilson. Lloyd was laid to rest in the Oaklawn Cemetery of Richland, MO.
