Lynda Charlene Nalley

Lynda Charlene (Long) Nalley, the youngest of three daughters of Elmer Long and Myrtle Mae (Williams) Long, was born on April 8, 1952, in Waynesville, Missouri. She passed away Sunday, February 23, 2025, in the Lake Regional Hospital of Osage Beach, Missouri having attained the age of 72 years. Charlene, as she was known by her family and friends, grew up in Waynesville where she attended school and graduated from Waynesville High School with the Class of 1970. On June 19, 1972, Lynda was united in marriage to Steven Nalley. They were married for 27 years and were blessed with two daughters, Kellie and Errin. During high school, she worked at Delta Loan. After graduating from high school, she worked in a civil service position at Fort Leonard Wood for 19 years before beginning her employment for ITT Industries in Kuwait, Qatar, and Colorado Springs for 17 years. This job gave her much joy in meeting and working with people from various parts of the world. Before officially retiring, she worked for several years as a consultant for Honeywell Industries. Throughout her retirement, Charlene began volunteering to work with the Waynesville School Alumni Association. She coordinated the annual reunion and raised money for scholarships for future graduates of the Waynesville R-VI School District. In her spare time, Charlene enjoyed collecting and restoring antiques which brought her much joy seeing them with new life. She loved spending time with her family, but especially her grandchildren. Charlene will be sadly missed but fondly remembered by all those that knew and loved her. She leaves to cherish her memory, her two children: Kellie Scott (James) of Waynesville, MO, and Errin Willis (Chuck) of Troy, MO; five grandchildren: Skye, Braylin, Tyler, Chase, and Parker; several other relatives and friends. Charlene was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer & Myrle Long; her husband: Steven Nalley; two sisters: Donna Pearl Long and Eleanor Ruth (Long) Shivers; and grandson: Cameron Michael Scott; along with many friends and extended family. Even though she is gone from our sight, Charlene’s spirit will live on in our hearts forever. Charlene will be laid to rest with her husband at Waynesville Memorial Park Cemetery at a private family service at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial contribution to the Waynesville R- VI School District Foundation and may be left at Memorial Chapels and Crematory of Waynesville / St. Robert.
