Marc Dion Murphy

Marc Dion Murphy, son of Jimmy Lee and Evelyn (Dane) Murphy, was born November 18, 1981 in Columbia, Missouri. He went home to be with his Lord Saturday, March 17, 2012 in the General Leonard Wood Army Community Hospital of Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. Marc grew up in the Waynesville / St. Robert area. He was a student in the Waynesville R-VI School District and graduated from high school in Waynesville. During his time in school, he was a player on the Waynesville High School football team and enjoyed sports immensely. After graduation from high school, Marc attended college at Central Methodist College where he had earned a football scholarship. He enjoyed his time there and was a member of Alpha Phi Gamma. On March 1, 2009 in Licking, Missouri, Marc was united in marriage to Amy LeeAnn Buell. They shared several years together and many precious memories. They were blessed with raising three children: Jada Sage Murphy, Gabriel Elijah Buell and R. Josiah Washington. Marc worked in many customer service jobs. He quickly advanced and always had a management position. He was in the business of smiling and cheering people up. Marc loved being a father. He always said he would like to have a little girl and he was so excited when Jada Sage was born. He loved his kids deeply. In his spare time, Marc was a member of the church choir at Greater Community Missionary Baptist Church. He enjoyed singing and music. Marc will be sadly missed by all those that knew and loved him. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Amy Murphy of the home; three children: Gabriel Elijah Buell, R. Josiah Washington and Jada Sage Murphy, all of the home; his mother: Evelyn Murphy; two brothers: Jimmy Lee Murphy, Jr. of St. Robert, MO and Eddie Murphy of Meridian, MS; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Marc was preceded in death by his father, Jimmy Lee Murphy, Sr. in 2010. Homegoing services were held at 6:00 p.m. Monday, March 26, 2012 in the Greater Community Missionary Baptist Church of St. Robert with Dr. Chris Parks officiating. Minister Gilmore, Sister Cavole, and Dr. Laticia Parks provided the music. Several of Marc’s family and friends recalled their wonderful memories of Marc. Serving as escorts were Jimmy Lee Murphy, Jr., Edward D. Murphy, Quinton Calloway, James W. Sills, Kendell Bellamy and Robert Johnson. Burial was held in the Waynesville Memorial Park Cemetery. Services were under the direction of Memorial Chapels and Crematory of Waynesville / St. Robert.
