Margie Renee Dodds

Margie Renee Dodds, daughter of the late Dwight Patterson and Henrietta (Johnson) Gwin, was born December 4, 1962, in Chicago, Illinois where she grew up and spent most of her life. Margie attended Earl Elementary School and Gage Park High School where she was a cheerleader. While still in Chicago, Margie met Eddie M. Dodds. They came to Missouri in 2000 and on January 8, 2010, in St. Robert, Missouri, they were united in marriage. Together they had three children: Eddie III, Teresa, and Joshua, which joined Margie’s eight other children: Anthony, Marcus, Paris, Latoya, Raymond, Brandon, Sparkle, and Tiffany. After moving to Missouri, Margie began working on the military installation, Fort Leonard Wood, in the commissary In her spare time, Margie enjoyed listening to music (especially Al Green), dancing, spending time with her sister, watching movies (particularly “The Green Mile” and “Legends of the Fall”), and playing games. She loved playing Dominoes, Spades, Pitty Pat, and several other games. Margie was fun to be with and had several friends that she enjoyed having come over for card games. Family was very important to Margie. She loved them all dearly and looked forward to the times that they could spend together. Margie passed away Saturday, June 28, 2025, in Silverstone Place of Rolla, Missouri having attained the age of 62 years. She will be sadly missed but fondly remembered by all those that knew and loved her. Margie leaves to cherish her memory, her nine children: Anthony Ward, Marcus Ward, Paris Ward, Brandon Gwin, Sparkle Ward, Tiffany Gwin, Eddie Gwin, Teresa Gwin, and Joshua Gwin; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; two brothers: Isaiah “Mickey” Mays and Bernard Patterson; stepfather: Stephen Gwin; several other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents, Margie was preceded in death by her husband: Eddie M. Dodds; two children: Latoya and Raymond; two brothers: Kenneth and Duane Ward; and one sister: Teresa Brinson. Even though she is gone from our sight, Margie’s spirit will live on in our hearts forever. Services were held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, July 11, 2025 in the Memorial Chapels and Crematory of Waynesville / St. Robert with Paris Ward officiating. Serving as escorts were family and friends with burial following in the Sunset Memorial Estates Cemetery of Waynesville, Missouri. Services were under the care and direction of Memorial Chapels and Crematory of Waynesville / St. Robert. Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Margie Dodds and may be left at Memorial Chapels and Crematory of Waynesville / St. Robert.
