Mary Anna Schutt

Mary Anna (Pollreisz) Schutt, daughter of the late Michael Joseph and Laura (Van Natta) Pollreisz, was born December 12, 1928, in Parkston, South Dakota and entered the gates of Heaven on Wednesday, March 19, 2014 in the Lake Regional Hospital in Osage Beach, Missouri having attained the age of 85 years. Mary attended school in South Dakota while living there until the eighth grade. Mary made a profession of faith in Christ at a young age. She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Lebanon, Missouri On April 15, 1947, Mary was united in marriage to Elmer Gotlieb Schutt in South Dakota. They were blessed with three precious children, Edward, Donald, and Joyce Ann. The family shared many years of love and wonderful memories together until Elmer’s death on November 28, 1992. In 1966 Mary and Elmer moved their little family from Seattle, Washington to Missouri, making their home in Pulaski County. Mary was known for her ability to be a great multi-tasker. She worked outside the home at the H.D Lee plant until she retired. Mary somehow made time to build the family’s home, all the while taking care of her beloved family, as well as her other household responsibilities. She had a wonderful work ethic. Mary’s other hobbies included wood working, building cabinets, crocheting hundreds of dolls, and other crafts. She was an all-around talented lady. In her spare time, Mary loved watching NASCAR and sports in general, she also enjoyed fishing, gardening, watching the birds, listening to old time gospel and country music. However, nothing compared to the time spent and memories made with her family. They were most important to her. She leaves two sons: Ed Schutt (Darlenea) of Richland, MO, Don Schutt (Diana Roe) of Richland, MO; two brothers: Albert Pollreisz of Richland, MO, and George Pollreisz of Columbia, MO; five sisters: Tina Condon of Richland, MO, Dorothea Grisham of Richland, MO, Violet Rowden of Richland, MO, Christiana Thurin state of Wisconsin and Patricia Picard of Dixon, MO; three grandchildren: Jamie Prettyman, Brian Schutt (Rachel) and Jeremy Schutt (Nicole); eight great-grandchildren: Dayton, Dustin, Logan, Megan, Dax, Emma, Adrian and Jaden; as well as a host of other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her husband Elmer, one daughter: Joyce Ann Driskel; her siblings: Mike, John and Joseph Pollriesz, Viola Pollreisz and Ruby Smith; and two great grandchildren Gage and Casey Prettyman. Mary was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved her. A memorial gathering was held at 6:00 p.m. until time of memorial service at 6:30 p.m., Friday, March 28, 2014 in the Memorial Chapel of Richland with Pastor Mitch Henson officiating. Soloist, Mitch Henson sang "Amazing Grace" and "Softly and Tenderly." Several people shared precious memories and stories about Mary including her son, Don. Interment will be in the Oaklawn Cemetery of Richland. Arrangements were under the direction of Memorial Chapel of Richland. Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Mary Anna Schutt and may be left at the funeral home.
