Myrtle Catherine Evans

Myrtle “Bunny” Catherine Evans passed away at 10:34 A.M. Monday, May 3, 2010 in the Phelps County Regional Medical Center of Rolla, Missouri at the age of 80 years, 9 months and 15 days. Bunny, as she was known to her family and friends, was born July 18, 1929 in Indianapolis, Indiana where she grew up and attended Decater Central High School. She was the daughter of the late Elmer and Lillian (Jackson) Pierson. On December 13, 1971, Bunny became an Army wife when she was united in marriage to Paul W. Evans in St. Joseph, Michigan. They shared over 38 years of marriage together and many wonderful memories. Bunny worked several jobs, but her main enjoyment came from being a homemaker, mother and wife. She took great pride in providing for her family. She was a member of the American Legion. In her spare time, she enjoyed being outdoors enjoying nature while either taking “just because” drives, feeding the hummingbirds, watching birds or playing with her dogs. She was very talented with crochet work, sewing, plastic canvas, word puzzles, ceramics and jigsaw puzzles. She liked going shopping with her girls, going out to eat with her husband, going to the movies, reading, and watching soap operas, Animal Planet and the SciFi channel. She loved just spending time with her family. She had the ability to accept people the way they are and was a wonderful listener. She will be sadly missed by all those that knew and lover her. Bunny leaves to cherish her memory her husband, Paul W. Evans; 4 daughters: Starr Marlowe (David) of Laquey, MO, Bunny Bigley (Evelyn Selden) of Laquey, MO and Victoria Collins (Johnny) and Annie Versary Evans of St. Robert, MO; numerous grand and great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents, Bunny was preceded in death by one daughter: Jimetta May Ratliff; three sons: Robert “Bobby” Glover, William “Billy” Glover and James “Dickie” Glover; and her beloved animals Munch, Pep and Bit. Funeral services were held at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, May 8, 2010 in the Memorial Chapels and Crematory of Waynesville/St. Robert with Rev. Christopher Hendrix officiating. The songs “Sissy’s Song”, “The Rest of Mine”, “When I Get Where I’m Going” and “The 12th of Never” were played. Services were under the direction of Memorial Chapels and Crematory of Waynesville/St. Robert. Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Myrtle Evans to the Gateway Hemophilia Association, 14248 F Manchester Road, PMB #310, Manchester, Missouri 63011 or may be left at the funeral home.
