Paul Thomas Bowles

Paul Thomas Bowles, son of Ernest P. and Ruby L. (Baldwin) Bowles, was born November 29, 1931, near Greenfield, Missouri. He departed this life Saturday, August 18, 2012, in Christian Health Care, North in Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of eighty years, eight months and nineteen days. On July 3, 1984, he was united in marriage to Linda Kay Reo and they have shared the last twenty-eight years together. Paul was born and raised in the Greenfield, MO area on the family farm. He married Arrenia Cassda and had one daughter, Paulette. He served his country faithfully in the Unites States Army until being medically discharged. He moved to Wichita, KS and married Marlene Lahman, where a daughter Cynthia E. was born. He was employed by Boeing Aircraft for several years there. They moved to Nevada, MO and he began his truck driving career and his son Paul E. was born. Later in life him and his son were team drivers, and drove from coast to coast. After he retired, Paul and Linda moved their home to Lebanon where he was a shift manager for the B&D Truck Port. He greatly enjoyed being around the trucks and visiting with acquaintances made over the years. Paul had professed his faith in Christ and was baptized into the Christian Church of Arcola, MO. In earlier years, he sang in a gospel quartet with his family. He loved his family dearly and had lived a very fulfilling life. He also had a special place in his heart for animals. Paul is survived by his wife, Linda of the home; five children, Paulette Yoder, of Heron, MT, Cynthia E. and son in law Richard Boyd of Greenfield, MO, Paul E. Bowles of Farmington, MO, Julie Ann Rogers of Augusta, MA and Jason Ulrich of Arcadia, CA; six grandchildren, Jeremy Boyd, Andera Ferwalt, Monica Bowles, Chelsey Bowles, Amanda Stidham, and Paul Arnall; eleven grandchildren; his sister, Joyce Sherwood, of Dadeville, MO, his brother, Joe Wayne Bowles of SO Greenfield, MO, a number of nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents. Paul was a loving and devoted husband; a cherished father, grandfather and great-grandfather; a treasured brother; and a caring neighbor and friend. He will be fondly remembered greatly missed, but will live on in our heart forever. Funeral services were held at 1:15 p.m. Wednesday, August 22, 2012 in the Pennsboro Christian Church of Pennsboro, Missouri with Pastor Weight Steeley officiating. Soloist Janette West sang “Precious Memories”, “Almost Home” and “Last Mile of the Way”. Serving as escorts were Jeremy Boyd, Jimmie Schafer, Hale Sherwood, John Sherwood, Tommy Ferwalt and Anthony Daigh. Serving as honorary escorts were Paul’s great grandsons. Burial followed in the Pennsboro Christian Church Cemetery. Services were under the direction of Memorial Chapel of Richland.
